A new report from the US-based advocacy group Food & Water Watch (FWW) reveals the pressing need to reduce methane emissions to prevent critical climate tipping points. The paper highlights that while most global warming mitigation efforts have focused on CO2, methane’s impact is far more significant. FWW says methane emissions have generated one-third of greenhouse gas releases since the Industrial Revolution began and have a warming potential 86 times greater than CO2 over a 20 year period. Immediate methane reduction is crucial to slowing progress toward dangerous tipping points. FWW identifies animal-people factories and fracking as the largest human-caused sources of methane in the US. The non-profit recommends ending government support for animal-people factory gas and digesters, banning new or the expansion of intensive animal-people raising facilities, and halting fracking for gas. Thank you, Food & Water Watch, for this vital message. May all now embrace the nourishing vegan diet that brings blessings to humans and animal friends, in Celestial oneness.
