A Wisconsin [US] court finds a truck driver guilty in an animal-people cruelty case after pig-individuals died from extreme cold during a roughly 432-mile [695-kilometer] winter trip from South Dakota to a slaughterhouse in Curtiss, Wisconsin, in January 2024. PETA [People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals] says seven pig-folk died during the trip and three more pig-individuals died after being unloaded. Previously in Part 1 of this two-part series on Lou Lynn’s near-death experience, Lou was unconscious in a truck after years of serious health problems and a sudden return of heart trouble, as Andrew, the man she was dating, rushed her toward medical help in Mobile, Alabama. Lou says she found herself in the “Great White” with Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian), surrounded by peace, love, joy, and no fear. But then the atmosphere changed, her memories of Andrew and her boys, Logan and Hayden, returned, and Lou realized she was facing a choice.
As the wind began to sound like a tornado, Lou says she felt as if her spirit was leaving her body. The atmosphere changed, it was white and then all of a sudden there were all these mauves and pinks. The wind changed. It sounded like I’m from southern Alabama. We’ve experienced tornadoes. We have hurricanes. I’ve been in two tornadoes myself. So, it sounded like a tornado. And Jesus — I didn’t see Him anymore. Now I know He did not leave me. “I will never leave or forsake you.” He did not come that far to leave me. I wasn’t aware of where He was in that moment, and I believe this was my choice. This was my choice. Because suddenly, I remembered Andrew. Jesus put those memories back in my mind. I remembered Andrew, I remembered Logan and Hayden, because I started feeling this sucking, and it wasn’t a— it’s not like, “Ahh!” I wasn’t like that, but I just felt like my spirit was leaving my body, or it was the process, I don’t know. But in that moment, I stopped, and I said, “Will you let me live to raise my boys?” I was panicking because I knew in those moments that, OK, Andrew will have no right to these kids. He is the father figure they have always needed in their life. And I can’t leave them. I can’t leave these boys. So, when I said, “Will you let me live to raise my boys?” because You know this, and He went, “Oh, sweet girl, I’ll let you live to raise your children.” And I woke up.
Lou woke up in the truck — heart barely functioning, mind struggling for oxygen — but with a deep inner knowing that she had just met Lord Jesus. Andrew got her to medical help, where her pulse was down to 30. The next morning, Good Friday 2004, Lou received her first pacemaker. As she came out of anesthesia, the same voice she had heard before spoke again — telling her to marry Andrew. They were engaged within three weeks and married three months to the day of her near-death experience.
In the years that followed, Lou began noticing things she couldn’t explain: dark shapes at the edge of her vision, bright light in the shape of an angel, and sudden flashes of knowledge about strangers — affairs, childhood injuries, and other private details — like a little movie playing over their heads. Overwhelmed and without any biblical foundation, she asked Lord Jesus to turn it off. He did. It wasn’t until six years after her experience, when she and Andrew began attending a new church, and she read the entire Bible in three months, that she began to understand what had happened to her.
Lou closes with the message she says her experience left in her heart — for believers, and for anyone who feels too broken for Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian) to reach.
We can’t be quiet about our faith anymore. We have to boldly share our faith with other people. We cannot accept false doctrines, false prophets, or false teachings to make other people feel better. He loves you more than you can imagine. You can’t even imagine. And when He looks down on this Earth, you are His favorite. I was the most broken person. He came and got me in that state. You can’t keep telling yourself, “I got to get myself together.” You can’t get yourself together without Him.
