On December 4, 2022, thousands of festivalgoers in the largest city of Âu Lạc (Vietnam) flocked to the vegan event Ngày Hội Thuần Chay, or Vegfest 2022, at the Culture and Labor Association Community Center. Following the success of Vegfest 2019, where more than 3,000 people attended, the 2022 edition of the festival attracted thousands as well. Engaging activities included the free tasting of delicious vegan samples, as well as colorful artwork and face painting for children. The festival’s vendors provided steaming dishes and soups along with vegan ice cream and drinks, like creamy oat milk from Singapore-based Oatside, a young company whose products are already available in 11 countries. The festival also featured vegan speakers, vegan chefs, and cooking demonstrations.
Event organizers Scott Green (vegan) and Trái Lê (vegan) of the NGO Sống Thuần Chay, described their excitement about being able to share their vegan mission through VegFest.
Professional athlete and entrepreneur Lâm Quách (vegan), popularly known as “Vegan Roar,” spoke about his dedication to the vegan lifestyle.
