The story takes place in a village in Colombia. Many years ago, this candle blessed our family with a miracle. Our house, our Casita, came to life with magic! And the miracle keeps growing, as Alma – now an abuela (grandma) – tells young Mirabel, her granddaughter, at the beginning of the film. The Madrigals’ new house, their Casita, is unlike any other: it is enchanted with magic. “In time, every member of our family... (Cecilia, up top!) ...was given their own magical gift.”“I’m not super strong like Luisa... ...or effortlessly perfect like “Señorita Perfecta”(“Miss Perfect”) Isabela, but mama, why am I the only one that didn’t get a gift?” “You’re just as special as anyone else in this family.” Mirabel loves her family and is so very proud of being a Madrigal. Very much hoping to serve like the other family members, she tries to help in every way she can and often prays, wishing someday she would be just like the others in the family. If the miracle is dying, then they will lose their Casita and the community will lose the Encanto. The magic is in danger. After hearing this, Mirabel is determined to save the miracle and protect her family! “Mirabel, the fate of the family is going to come down to you.” “Even in our darkest moments... There’s light... ...where you least expect it.”“Encanto” enthralls viewers of all ages with its captivating mysteries. This enchanting movie has won numerous awards, including an Oscar (Academy Award) for “Best Animated Feature Film” and a Golden Globe Award in the “Best Motion Picture – Animated” category. Notably, all the original songs appeared on the US Billboard Hot 100, with “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” reaching number one, making it the highest-charting Disney song since 1992. “Colombia… Encanto! Encanto! Gift or no gift, I am just as special as the rest of my family.”
