Staying safe is mostly about learning how to avoid accidents and problems. I have a handy emergency tip for you today, especially if you are camping. Due to the structure of the ear, insects can easily crawl in and get stuck. If this happens, lie down on your side with the affected ear positioned up, and then slowly pour some warm water into the ear to help remove the insect. Do not use cotton swabs or hit your ear. If this doesn’t succeed, seek medical attention to safely get the insect out. If possible, avoid sleeping on the floor or near windows during the rainy season when insects often come indoors, and be sure to clean your blankets and pillows regularly.
