In Shining World Compassion Award News from the United States

For the past decade, Tami Moore has been on a mission to rescue animals, including dogs, garden snakes, possums, squirrels and even a fawn. Ms. Moore helps to support people in the community who are less fortunate or homeless to keep their animal companions healthy, fed and safe. As the founder of the Moore 2 Love Rescue, she has devotedly been working to fund the rescue endeavors, pay for veterinary care, and educate the public on over-population control. “What made me want to start the organization is I saw, now with social media you get to see so many animals that are being neglected, and suffering, and don’t have homes. And so that’s what made me start. I saw a dog, and I was like, ‘What can I do to help her?’ And I just started social networking and working with different people to help save that one dog and from there that one dog went to two, three, four, you know to (350 rescued) 350 rescued.” Our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai graciously offered Tami Moore the Shining World Compassion Award “plus US$10,000 in humble support of your caring work.”

Our Association members in San Jose, California were pleased to present the Award letter, crystalline plaque, Master’s financial gift, publications and DVDs, as well as vegan dog food, to Tami Moore. An excerpt from the Award letter reads: “It is with great admiration and gratitude that we present to you the ‘Shining World Compassion Award’ for nurturing kindness towards animals within the community. This Award is presented in recognition of your decade long heroic efforts to rescue and rehome animals, and to educate the public. Your motto ‘animals deserve better’ reflects the noble thoughts of a Golden Age where all of God’s creation can live in harmonious co-existence.”

“I want to thank Supreme Master. This means so much to me. I also want to thank my family, my friends that are here, and my fosters and everyone that helps me with this journey. I don’t think there’s enough words to say what this means to me. Thank You.”

Our heartiest congratulations, Tami Moore and the Moore 2 Love Rescue volunteers. May Heaven always bless your dedicated efforts to assist precious, deserving animals, in Divine kindness and grace. For the full presentation of the Shining World Compassion Award to Tami Moore, please tune in to our Shining World Award program at a later date.

United Arab Emirates assists Pakistan in responding to COVID-19 pandemic.

The UAE recently provided 14 metric tons of medical supplies to Pakistan, which will equip approximately 7,000 health professionals in their efforts to curb the coronavirus. This is the third delivery of medical provisions that Pakistan has received from the UAE. Speaking of the support, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, His Excellency Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, said, “Through this aid, we honor the frontline healthcare workers in Pakistan and around the world who are working tirelessly to put an end to this crisis.” Our sincere accolades, United Arab Emirates, for your generous help. May Allah bless the spiritual Pakistani people with safety and health, in Heaven’s infinite mercy.

Hallo beautiful friends, I’m Leslie the Lion-Tailed Macaque, and I am light and fast on my feet because I am powered by plant-based foods. Be vegan, like me. Here is a road safety tip for you. It is not advisable or safe for you to turn the wheels of your car prior to making a left turn (or a right turn if you live in a country where vehicles drive on the left side of the road). The wheels should be well aligned in the initial position because if a car collides into your rear, you could be tossed into oncoming traffic. Please be vigilant and stay safe on the roads! Thank you for tuning in. And love you for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all of us humans and all co-inhabitants alike. Now, the weather around our beautiful globe.

New wind project begins operating in the Netherlands.

The Borssele 1 & 2, a 752-megawatt offshore wind farm that is currently being constructed off the coast of Zeeland, the Netherlands, by Denmark-based global green energy company Ørsted, has had its first wind turbine produce electricity. As the Netherlands’ largest offshore farm development to date, a total of 94 eight-megawatt Siemens Gamesa wind turbines will be installed. The project began its construction in January 2020 and is expected to be fully completed later this year. Ørsted has launched many sustainable initiatives around Europe, North America, and Asia. Kudos, the Netherlands and Ørsted, for another successful wind project. In a vegan world, may there be plentiful meritorious careers for people, in accordance with the Providence.

Kenya conducts massive tree-planting initiative.

The Green Zones Development Support Project, to be implemented in 15 counties that are near vital forest ecosystems, is being funded by US$5 million by the Kenyan government and US$50 million by the African Development Bank. Ten million tree seedlings will be made available in the present financial year. Kenya, a Shining World Leadership Awards for Protection and Compassion laureate, states in her constitution a commitment to increase and maintain forest cover to a 10% minimum of the country’s total land area. The effort, which is coordinated by the Kenya Forest Service working with Community Forest Associations, will boost forest conservation, support climate resilient livelihoods and improve household incomes. More than 7,500 households and ten institutions will benefit from the project. God bless you, Kenya, toward this noble goal! May your forests along with your caring citizens flourish in the amazing natural world bestowed by the Divine.

Honest youth inspires community.

When nineteen-year-old Jose Nuñez Romaniz of Albuquerque, New Mexico in the United States drove to the automatic teller machine, or ATM, of his local bank to make a deposit and found a transparent plastic bag full of cash on the ground, the upright young man immediately called the police. The officers determined it contained US$135,000, which had mistakenly been left by a bank sub-contractor who was to replenish the machine. Jose, who credits his parents for raising him to act honorably, has been celebrated by the city of Albuquerque, been given at least US$1,500 in awards, and lauded in the media for his inspiring actions. The police department even invited him to apply for a job as an aide since the young man is studying criminal justice and aspires to work in law enforcement. A big salute, Jose Nuñez Romaniz! Your integrity to do right over short-term gain fills the world with admiration and goodness, in Celestial light!

Vegan egg replacement debuts in the United Kingdom.

UK-headquartered vegan food company OGGS, dedicated to supplying tasty plant-based alternatives to everyday foods, has released its Aquafaba Egg Substitute in major UK supermarket, Waitrose, and will also roll it out in Sainsbury’s and Asda later this year. The product, made from the brine of chickpeas, is sold in a 200 milliliter carton, which is the equivalent of four eggs and can be used to replace its animal counterpart in recipes. Around September, a 500 milliliter packet will be available for the food service industry. In adhering to its zero-waste policy, OGGS is providing the cooked chickpeas to other food manufacturers at a lowered price, while the packaging is totally recyclable and sustainably sourced. Such joyous news for the people and animals of the grand United Kingdom. May your product help to replace all eggs as our gentle chicken co-inhabitants live naturally and in peace, in Heaven’s embrace.

Animal protection group saves dogs from farming facility in Korea.

In its sixteenth dog farm rescue and closure since 2015, Shining World Compassion Award recipient and Shining World Protection Award laureate, Humane Society International (HSI), has saved 70 dogs in Hongseong County of South Chungcheong Province, who were either to be sent to slaughter or the puppy mill trade. The rescued dogs will receive veterinary and rehabilitative care in Korea, before finding forever homes at HSI’s partner shelters in Canada and the United States once travel restrictions due to the pandemic have eased. Notably, with HSI’s assistance, Nakseon Kim, former owner of the canine operation, will switch to growing vegetables, which he described as “a business with a future.” Hoping to stop this “nightmare” for canines, HSI Korea campaigner, Nara Kim, said, “…we need to be their voice and call for an end to the dog farming and dog meat industries.” Our heartfelt thanks, Humane Society International. May the Providence bless Nakseon Kim for his noble transition. In Divine love, may we be good, caring and kind guardians for our meek and innocent animal brethren.

Show us your beautiful smile! Join us for some laughter with the joke of the day entitled, “Driver Mindset.

Pondering about various matters in life, Jacob asks his friend:

“Can you tell me what is the difference between a young man driving and an old man driving? That is, how can you tell who is behind the wheel?”

“Easy. A young man drives a car like he’s got no time, but an old man drives a car like he’s got plenty of time!”
