Today I have a tip on how to help your child improve their sleep pattern. Sleep researchers found that a regular bedtime routine leads to longer and better sleep for kids. Having a good night’s rest improves concentration and learning, as well as energy for play and having fun! A bedtime routine is a simple series of calming activities in the same order and at the same time each night. Soothing bedtime activities should start about 20 minutes before going to sleep and may include quiet playtime, a cozy story, an open conversation on their day or the coming day’s plan, and sometimes just tucking your child in with a goodnight cuddle and kiss. At the end, it is important to signal it's time to sleep, say goodnight, turn off the lights, and leave. Keeping bedtime routines consistent helps your child feel prepared for sleep. While it may take a few weeks, this positive approach improves settling, reduces nighttime disruptions, and strengthens parent-child bonds. Remember that bedtime routines can change and will become more flexible as your child gets older. Sweet dreams await!
