Performing public service and supporting voluntary efforts were two core aspects of the Queen’s work. She was a patron of more than 600 organizations whose areas of focus included medical care, education, arts and culture, military-related charity work, religion, mental health, elderly care, childcare, and animal-people protection.

Climate Change was an issue of great concern to Her Majesty. In her 1989 Christmas Broadcast, she raised the alarm: “You've all seen pictures of the earth taken from space. Unlike all the other planets in the solar system, earth shimmers green and blue in the sunlight and looks a very pleasant place to live. These pictures should remind us that the future of all life on earth depends on how we behave towards one another, and how we treat the plants and the animals that share our world with us.”

On April 28, 2022, Queen Elizabeth assented to the landmark Animal Sentience Act, formally recognizing for the first time that animal-people, including decapods and crustaceans such as crab-people and lobster-people, are sentient beings capable of feeling pain and needing protection from suffering.

Then on September 8, just two days after her meeting with Ms. Truss, the beloved sovereign passed away peacefully at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, surrounded by her immediate family and precious corgi-people. Heartfelt condolences and earnest tributes were offered from leaders around the world, with many cities lowering their flags to half-mast.

Our most compassionate Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) also expressed Her sorrow and heartfelt sentiments on the passing of the beloved Monarch and offered words of comfort. “So, I’m glad to tell you that Queen Elizabeth has gone to a higher Heaven. And she’ll be peaceful and happy. Mostly, because she did her duty wholeheartedly. And at the end, she signed the Animal Sentience Bill. You see, that would earn her a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot of merits.”

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II left us an unparalleled legacy of a lifetime devoted to serving the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. Her selfless dedication has set a foundation for a more stable and peaceful world. She is a shining embodiment of dignity, integrity, strength, and magnanimity.
