“The Year Earth Changed,” which is narrated by British natural historian Sir David Attenborough, gives an overview of the COVID-19 lockdowns’ effects on the natural world. Due to humans making less noise and less pollution, it was revealed that the animal kingdom and nature flourished. Whales, for example, could speak to their young more easily without ships nearby, capybaras were seen roaming the suburbs of South America, and the Himalayas could be seen from an Indian city for the first time in decades. The one-hour film allows viewers to consider how small steps can have a profound effect on supporting wildlife and nature.

Such a beautiful film! Thank you, Sir David Attenborough, BBC and all involved, in the production of “The Year Earth Changed.” In the grace of the Providence, may we cherish the natural world and be sure to leave space for all beings to live in peace.
