A global call by the Honorable Chief Phil Lane Jr. (vegan) to “Choose Peace. Live Peace. End War.” The Honorable Chief Phil Lane Jr. has organized the worldwide event “Eleven Days to Prove Peace Is Possible” which began on September 11, 2026, and will conclude on September 21, 2026, coinciding with the United Nations International Day of Peace.
Chief Lane is a member of the Ihanktonwan Dakota and Chickasaw Nations. In 1982, he founded the Four Worlds International Institute, which has become a global leader in the holistic development of Indigenous communities. As part of the “Eleven Days” event, Chief Lane has prepared a video titled “Hereditary Chief's Global Call to AI Leaders and Investors: Help Humanity End War” that he wishes to share with the world. We now present excerpts from his meaningful message.
My Relatives. Respected leaders of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind, Meta, Microsoft, and xAI, and all those investing in the future of artificial intelligence (AI):
I speak to you heart to heart. The resources flowing into your companies are immense and growing, and are expected to move beyond US$1 trillion in 2026. At the same time, governments are spending US$3 trillion a year on war— that’s more than US$8 billion dollars every day —while nearly half of our beloved human family lives in poverty on less than US$8 per day. In the past few months alone, more than 20 million members of our beloved human family have fallen into poverty as a direct result of war.
The continued growth of AI and warfare cannot continue. I call upon each of you to put your most capable AI innovations to work for peace to demonstrate peace is possible by supporting peacebuilders and communities to verify peace is possible through a 24-hour global ceasefire and worldwide day of nonviolence on September 21st.
