The harmonious country of Âu Lạc (Vietnam) was born out of a magical relationship closely associated with the legend of the Children of the Fairy Queen and Dragon King. Once upon a time, the noble roots of Lạc Long Quân from the Dragon Deity lineage and Âu Cơ who belong to the Fairy lineage. They were an instant match and the love flourished between the two magnificent beings. Lạc Long Quân and Âu Cơ were soon married. Queen Âu Cơ was expecting, when the time came, she miraculously gave birth to a pouch of one hundred eggs. God turned the eggs into a hundred sons. One day Lạc Long Quân said to Âu Cơ: Our races are different like water and fire, difficult to stay together forever. I’ll take 50 children to the water to safeguard different places; you bring 50 children to govern on various lands. We will always love one another and will never forget each other.
