According to Lawyer Slivkov, He was a gifted speaker. Whenever He spoke, the room would fall silent in attention and respect. In America at that time, such talent could have made Him wealthy, yet He chose to live simply. He also played the violin beautifully, but never used His gift for profit, offering His music freely despite having little funds. After His return to Bulgaria in 1895, Master Peter Deunov spent much of His time in solitude, contemplation, prayer, and spiritual pursuits. He speaks of this period in a letter: “I am here working for the Lord. I am practicing patience, with the help of good nature and kindness. I fill my heart with magnanimity, and I strengthen it with disinterestedness and humility. I solicit the help of sincerity. I deck my forehead with courtesy, kindness, and mercy. When I have finished this arduous task, I shall bring the Lord GOD a choice offering and I shall thank Him for having extended His mercy to me in the fulfilment of my task, triumphing in His name. I shall thank Him for having placed me in a secure place within His habitation.” In 1897, at the age of 33, Master Peter Deunov had a mystical experience that revealed His spiritual mission: to become a Teacher for humanity and sow the seeds of a new culture of love. He said: “I have been inspired and this happened on 7th of March, 1897. […] Then I was given a mission from Heaven, I was told that I am a Master for the entire mankind. The assigned mission is in connection with the new path of the Slavism and with the coming of the Sixth race.” Master Beinsa Douno later explained that the descent of the Divine Spirit is a recurring process lasting many years. The Spirit can only descend upon the Son of Man – the One Who is born of GOD and has direct communion with the Spirit of the Lord. Through this Divine rebirth, He becomes the Son of GOD.Beings of Light, including Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian), are said to have visited Him and spoken with Him. In 1897, Master Beinsa Douno recorded His first mystical message received through the Spirit, described as the “Voice of GOD” speaking. “Wake up, You Who is sleeping, the time has come. … I am waiting for an answer at the secret door of Your heart.” In that year, Master Beinsa Douno founded the Society for the Uplifting of the Religious Spirit of the Bulgarian People, which in 1906 developed into the Chain of Divine Love. To join, disciples signed the Ten Testimonies of the Spirit, a Divine revelation given to the Master on February 14, 1899. Through these signatures, disciples committed their lives, health, and will to GOD and to the spiritual work. In 1920, this movement further evolved into the School of the White Brotherhood.
