Our strong hind legs and wedge-shaped hooves enable us to stand erect and reach branches that are more than two meters above the ground. In African folklore, my kind of animal is often referred to as “the Queen of Humbleness.” Gerenuks like me have been around for more than 7,000 years. You can see us in some ancient Egyptian art.
