An Experience in Cosmic Consciousness: Selections from Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda, Part 1 of 2

Since its first publication in 1944, the book “Autobiography of a Yogi” has inspired countless Truth seekers around the world. In particular, it was through this book, originally written in English, that many Westerners were introduced to the teachings of meditation and Kriya Yoga. The autobiography contains the exceptional life story of the renowned Indian yogi and enlightened Master Paramahansa Yogananda, who was born in 1893. “What one does not trouble to find within will not be discovered by transporting the body hither and yon. As soon as the devotee is willing to go even to the ends of the earth for spiritual enlightenment, his guru appears nearby.” “An oceanic joy broke upon calm endless shores of my soul. The Spirit of God, I realized, is exhaustless Bliss; His body is countless tissues of light.”

Prophecy of the Golden Age Part 153 - Prophecy of the Gnostics

“After She has created the first work, She will take off Her wise flame of afterthought and will put on irrational wrath.” “Then She will drive out the gods of chaos, whom the chief creator had co-created (but was not able to perfect). She will cast them down to the abyss.”In our previous episode, we learned about the “consummation of the age,” when the great Heavenly Being Sophia is predicted to appear in the realm of chaos and wield Her immense Power against the dark force. We also found evidence that Sophia is a manifestation of the Savior of our time: the Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai. The prophecy about Sophia continues: “After She has created the first work, She will take off Her wise flame of afterthought and will put on irrational wrath.” Although we will never be able to fully fathom Master’s sacred and complex Mission in this lifetime, we do know that Master had spent several decades teaching humankind the saintly way of life with infinite patience and gentle words. Perhaps this coincides with Sophia’s “first work.” Then, in recent years, Master has been speaking out more and more about the anguished indignance She feels regarding the injustice of the world’s system, and Her resolve to rescue all the suffering souls trapped in it. Thus, She has been putting on “irrational wrath,” which is actually an expression of Her Compassion and Love – a mighty force to be reckoned with! “I was so mad at maya. I scolded him because he… ‘for creating so much traps and pain and suffering and temptation leading to suffering and hell for all beings in this world and the other worlds. You should taste your own poisonous medicine! You are more than terrorists!’ I was very, very angry because I saw some suffering on TV, and my heart just… so cannot bear, understand? And I don’t apologize to him. I don’t ever apologize. I was angry and yelling at him many times. I never apologize. I never regret. He wanted to rule the world. He wanted to make his own world to rule. But what a world that he created. I can yell at him forever.” “I was so angry that he harassed my dogs. I was screaming at maya. I was so angry. I was really, really angry. I said, ‘Don’t touch my dog. Don’t bother my dogs. Otherwise, I will really destroy you, no matter what reason, or excuse.’ I was really mad. And when I am mad, I am really mad.”In late 2019 and over the subsequent months, Master acted on Her anger and did something that had never been done before; She locked up maya and his subordinates in the abyss of hell! This is precisely as was foretold: “Then She will drive out the gods of chaos, whom the chief creator had co-created (but was not able to perfect). She will cast them down to the abyss.” “The Third Level god, he was jealous. I replaced him already, so, it’s better now. But at that time, he was like in competition with me. He’s worried that I gain so much. I said, ‘Why’d you do this?’ He (demon) works directly with the Third Level god. (Yes.) He said, ‘We didn’t want to do it, but all the Shadow Worlds are losing souls all the time. And then soon, what would happen to us? We will have no more souls, no more citizens.’ I said, ‘You don’t have to, or you change. You follow me and all the souls will be in Paradise. (Yes.) You can reign forever. I don’t compete with you.’ But he said, ‘Then we don’t have the power over the 93.9 worlds.’ Oh, such a greed. (Wow.) ‘You have the Third World, that’s enough already. (Yeah.) What for you want to reign 93.9 worlds? What’s the use of that? (Yes.) You have more souls, you have less souls; what’s the use? You should be more enlightened by now, by all the Saints that have been teaching in your world as well. You just have to follow me, change your ways, because I work for the benefit of the souls, to stop the suffering that they have to endure all these eons and continues. It’s not fair. They’re innocent and you guys trap them into doing bad then punish them, they recycle forever in this dark domain and hell and suffering. That’s not right. You know it’s not right.’ So that rep said, ‘Oh yeah, we know it’s not right.’ I said, ‘Not we. You. If that god of yours doesn’t change, I will have to replace him.’ And I did. I replaced with Ihôs Kư Gods. (Wow!) Yeah. (OK.) But the name is still kept the same, so all souls don’t get confused. I mean the other souls who are not initiated. (Wow. When did Master replace him?) That was last year (2019). (Wow! OK.) I don’t remember what day. If I look into the diary, it’s there. (Amazing!) But you guys still continue to revere that name, because the name is the position. (Yes, Master.) Not the name of that Being, is not private. OK? (OK. Yes.) So nothing changed except the Being changed. It’s easier to work with my own. (Yes. For sure.) Otherwise, it’s very difficult to work with competitive people. I told that being, ‘You have to change. Otherwise, I have to dethrone you. You have a choice.’ He still didn’t want, so I said, ‘OK, you must go.’ (Yeah. Good.) ‘Go and live with maya. There you get on well with each other.’ (Wow.) Same terrible mind, same possessive, competitive mind, same narrow mind. Just go. I have no sympathy for this type of lowly attitude, lowly thinking. I’ve no sympathy. They can stay there forever. Truly. Because they have been wreaking misery and suffering on many worlds already, long, long ever, you cannot even count. (Wow.) They can stay in hell, locked forever. Whoever this time doesn’t repent, then will be locked forever. (Yes, Master.) That is that. It’s done and it’s decided.” “I replaced the Third Level god already. You know, right? (Yes.) So, it’s easier for me to take the souls up. If he was still there, even repenting people would not get away. (Wow.) If he just let me work… And I play fair, just whoever listens to me and wants to go up, then I take up. But he was greedy; he didn’t want. So now he lost everything. He lost also his position. Poor guy. I am sorry, but I had to. I don’t want to work with these uncooperative beings. They obstruct me too much. And I don’t want people to come back and forth all the time, suffering in this illusionary dream.” “Maya is the creator of the three lower, destroyable worlds, including this physical planet. These Three Worlds, there is the law of karma, the law of reward and punishment. The three worlds of no real love.” “All the poor souls are trapped forever. It pains me just to think about it. It pains me so much just to think about all these poor souls being so innocent and helpless, and victimized and abused. And then being tempted into doing wrong things and then getting blamed for it. This is all the fault of maya. He created a creation with a lot of flaws, and he’s possessive. He wants to be a ruler forever. That is the problem.”“I said, ‘All of you, listen to me!’ I was very angry, louder and more angry than that. ‘You, get all the power together, all of you, right now! Destroy that maya for me. NOW!’ And then, of course They did it. Didn’t take long. Oh, I was surprised. And I repeated three times, ‘All of you, get together all the power, concentrate together and destroy the maya. And NOW!’ I said, ‘NOW! NOW!’ Three times, the same thing I repeated. But by the second time, They’d already done it. The third time I just… It was already coming out, so it was just going out like a train. My power, my anger, my energy just streaming out. And I couldn’t stop, so I just made the three times. And then I asked Them, ‘Done?’ They said, ‘Yes.’”“The zealous demons around the place where I newly stay for retreat, they came and harassed the monkeys. They scolded them and they punished them. (Oh.) That’s why I was so mad, I sent them to hell. I asked the Godses to send them to hell. I said, ‘Whoever repents can go up to Heaven.’ Till now, 151,326 repented, and went to the Fourth Level. (Wow!) I didn’t check up to now again. The rest were dragged to hell with their boss, to see their boss there, the maya.”More recently, Master also revealed that She rebuked the gods of the lower worlds and threatened to destroy them. “Many times, I’m very mad. I’m very angry. If you think that I’m an angry Master, for example, with the corrupted government, or with the rotten church members, oh, that’s nothing. That’s nothing compared to when I talk to those lower Heavens up there who are causing trouble and don’t help. You cannot imagine how I talk to them and threaten them, and being angry at them. I say, ‘You have a lot of power, you use it for nothing. And you even smile at our suffering here. If you don’t do something more, I’m going to destroy all of you, and your palaces and all.’ Of course, they are more cooperative now. Still, I don’t see the quick enough result.I hate the system in the Three Worlds. It’s all oppressive. It’s all about law and order. It’s fallible. It’s so easy to fall in this world and even in another world like the Astral world. Within the Three Worlds, it’s very easy to fall. Even if you are on the top Three already, if you come back, be human, you definitely will one day, when your merit runs out. You’ll be human or animal, you fall again, and you just get lower. That is the deal. That’s the problem. That’s what I hate about it. That’s why whatever they argue with me, it’s no use. I say, ‘It’s all hypocritical. I don’t take all that, I don’t accept anything like that. You trap the souls into this web of yours and then you torture them, you criticize them, you nitpick. Whatever they do, it’s all wrong. They can never do anything right. Even if they do, you will cast it in some other trap or trick to make it lessened, to make more trouble, or to continue in a different way, so they have to continue to enjoy that merit, and then they fall again!’ Because it’s very difficult not to fall in this world, and I saw all that, I can see all that clearly.”Come what may, we know that the Divine Will shall be done – the positive force shall triumph and the “deficiency” of the imperfect lower realms will be corrected: “The Light will cover the darkness and obliterate it. It will become like something that never existed. And the source of the darkness will be dissolved. The deficiency will be plucked out at its root and thrown down to the darkness.” The text goes on to say that all the eternal realms will be filled with “the Glory of the Unconceived,” perhaps referring to the Savior’s Divine Power. This has come true, as Master’s Oversoul has been ascending higher and higher through the Heavenly Realms, filling them with Her radiant Glory! “And the Light will withdraw up to its root, and the Glory of the Unconceived will appear, and it will fill all the eternal realms, when the prophetic utterances and the writings of those who are Rulers are revealed and are fulfilled by those who are called perfect.” The text here also hints that all these extraordinary events will occur when the prophecies of the past true “Rulers,” meaning the Prophets and Messiahs, are revealed and fulfilled – like they are being now! The passage then concludes by telling what would happen to all the mortal souls at this exceptional period of time: “Those who were not perfected in the Unconceived Father will receive their glories in their realms and in the kingdoms of immortals. But they will not ever enter the kingless realm. For it is necessary that everyone enter the place from which he has come. Each one by his deeds and his gnosis (spiritual level) will reveal his nature.” Wow! Supreme Master Ching Hai has truly fulfilled the Gnostic prophecy, for by Her infinite Grace, She has promised that all those who sincerely repent or remember Her, though not “perfected” or initiated, will be liberated and elevated to at least the Fourth World. The souls She saves will go to different Heavens accordingly, “but they will not ever enter the kingless realm,” meaning the destructible lower domain. “I have created a special area, a special spiritual land for all of you and whoever under my wings. (Thank You, Master!) It’s not the Original Universe but it’s very special. Beyond and above the Fifth Level, better. Special place. Even if you are not initiated but you have faith in the Master and remember the Master, or saw the Master once, but have no bad ideas about Master or speak against Master, then they can also go to the higher levels and then slowly go up to that place at the end. But it takes a long time. (Yes, Master.) Even then, they will not go to hell, or go to a lower existence anymore. (Yes, Master.) It’s kind of a guarantee. (Wow!)” “If you change to vegan, I promise I will take you Home, wherever you call Home is. But not to hell. Definitely, I promise you that. And if anyone who also produces weapons to kill humans or animals, if you turn away now, you U-turn right now, and you never make that business again. Do some more benevolent business, making clothes, making a (vegan) restaurant, making a (vegan) hotel, something that people enjoy and feel comfortable with. I promise, I also will take you to Heaven.” “(If people repent, they go straight to Heaven, just like that?) This lifetime, yes. But not ‘like that’ like that. The God of the Fourth Level, I have made a request with Him to take in these people. To be either His citizens or to transit for a while until I clean them up enough to go up, because these kinds of people, they cannot just go straight up to Tim Qo Tu Land. Still have some residues, of bad karma, of sin, and ego. And the Lord of the Fourth Level, of course, He can check who truly repents, who doesn’t. If they truly repent and have remorse and truly want to go back to their original Self, to their own Self Nature, to be near God, to know God more, then they can.”

It looks like champagne. Looks very much like champagne. Beautiful and it bubbles and everything. Except no alcohol. All is good? (Yes. Very good.) Happy, happy? (Yes. Thank You, Master.) You know what, we’re going to eat some of this because always sweet, sweet, sweet. Oh, like it. OK. Any questions at all concerning the lecture I just gave you? My God, so quiet. Suddenly. No problem? (No.) OK. Then that’s good. We have champagne even, non-alcoholic champagne. Want to drink some? (Yes.) You still have your cup? No. (Yes.) Good. I’m trying. Careful. I’m scared. Everybody, one cup. Right. There you go. Thank you. Here don’t have, here don’t have yet? Don’t have? Never mind. You pour out for yourself. All right. It’s good? Yep. (You drink, Master?) Yes, yes, yes. Boom! Come here. Your cup. Whose cup is that? It’s frothing so much. (Pour for Yourself too, Master.) Cheers. (Cheers.) Cheers! Cheers! (Cheers!) Oh quick, quick, quick, drink. He has it. Some girl takes care of him, don’t worry. Good-looking guy, everybody takes care. See, nobody takes care of me. See, I have to pour the (non-alcoholic) wine myself. Yeah, see that? And he already had it. Some more here, honey. Have some. I don’t want it. Sour. (It’s so exciting, so exciting!) (Thank You, Master.) Anybody don’t have? (More.) More. Anybody who did not have? (So exciting!) Oh. Have already, my God. This, please bring to the Chinese. (People back there haven’t got it yet, Master.) And the other rooms. (Yes, the back room.) For the back rooms. Don’t look at this here. Don’t dream about it. Maybe tomorrow, all right? (Yes, yes.) Yeah, yeah. Please do. Give me a knife or something, so everybody has half to try. If not, then I eat all by myself. Not for you, you don’t have to come here now because… (Where has He been, He’s just now coming in?) He was lying on His bed out there. You want (non-alcoholic) champagne? No, you don’t. You just like to have fun. Why did you bring it now? You should have it before. OK, you ate up all the storeroom today already. Tomorrow we have nothing. Yeah, understand? (Yes.) Don’t give it to anyone who already has it. Good Love, I’m going home now. You want to stay? (Thank You, Master.) You’re welcome. Sorry, sorry. You want to stay, or you want to go home? (Your spiritual book?) No, I leave it there. Want to go? (Thank You, Master.) See you. Let's go! You only eat, drink, and play around here. After this, you guys go out meditate, OK? (Yes.) Party’s over. (OK. Thank You, Master.)

Buddhist Stories: Cinca the Brahmin Girl, Part 4 of 5, Sep. 27, 2015

A monk, he forgets all his family already, and he goes out to become a monk, then at least his heart is purified. And he walks around lending his beautiful energy to the whole country. He doesn’t have to do anything. So they should treat him with respect, all the monks. Regardless, regardless of what religion. In India, you see, everyone is safe. I mean as far as Hinduism and Buddhism are concerned. And afterward there come other religions after that, and become less so devoted. Influenced from the outside. Before, the Indian people were more pure. But they still do now, in many parts of India. When you go to a farmer… I went to some farm, some time ago, on the road, and met some farmer girl. Immediately she greeted me, “Hari hari, Ram Ram.” Means, “Greetings to You, the God,” something like that. They treat you like God. And they immediately, on their mouth, come out of their lips, always God. Just a rural farmer girl. It's not like a sophisticated master or something. It's very, very ingrained in most of the Indian people. Not all of them of course, but most of them. They still keep this tradition of God devotion. And all the temples, always hear chanting everywhere. Beautiful! They chant all the time in praise of God. No matter what temple, no matter what they believe. Beautiful instruments they play and they sing. Yeah, beautiful. I'm glad India exists. I'm glad. So every year in winter, I repay the kindness of Indian people (Yes.) by giving the wandering monks, (Blankets.) people, blankets and something, (it’s) the least I can do, every winter. The monks, they need blankets, the wandering monks. They are Hindu monks or Buddhist monks, I don’t know, whatever. The wandering monks, they’re really ascetic. They have nothing. Some monks don’t have anything to eat for two weeks or something like that because nobody gave him anything. Never mind. Many humans still don’t know what to do, how to repay the monks’ kindness. Because even if the monk is preaching nothing, even he’s not like a holy monk or not very… Maybe, who knows he’s holy or not?A monk, he forgets all his family already, and he goes out to become a monk, then at least his heart is purified. And he walks around lending his beautiful energy to the whole country. He doesn’t have to do anything. So they should treat him with respect, all the monks. Regardless, regardless of what religion. Regardless of whether or not you think he’s holy or not. It’s the symbol of love, of compassion, of wisdom, of detachment. These are all the qualities that we long to have but don’t. All right. Now, so if you offer something to such a renounced person, then maybe he would lend you some of his virtues. And maybe in the future life you can be a monk - detached. At least in this lifetime, feel more detached, less bound. All right, so… in India, I heard that you should never upset a monk because you don’t know what power he possesses. And by upsetting him, that power in him will repulse it and return it to you without him wanting it. He’s protected. So, just like you spit at the sky and it comes back to you. So you should never upset a monk. Never make him angry, never do anything improper, never disrespect him - a monk, any monk. So OK, like that. And then after that, he went to the Himalayas, adopted the life of an ascetic. “And in the course of time, developed the direct knowledge by the practice of deep meditation.” Enlightened. “Now a certain forester happened to see him there, and reported to the king. Thereupon, the king went to him, exchanged friendly greetings with him, learned what had happened, and offered to bestow his kingdom upon the Great Being.” Wow, wanted to give him the whole kingdom or half at least. “The Great Being, however, declined his offer and admonished him as follows. ‘For my part, I have no desire to rule. But as for you, Majesty, you should keep, unimpaired, the ten royal virtues. Avoid evil deeds and rule your kingdom justly.’ Thereupon, the king arose from his seat in tears and went back to the city. The ten virtues of the royal king are: giving, virtuous conduct, renunciation…” Inside, of course. He cannot go in the forest just like him, but at least inside. “Renunciation, uprightness, gentleness, austerity, non-anger, harmlessness, patience, non-opposition to the will…” Means for the will of the people, means not to rule against the will of the people, being good and gentle to people. I cannot be king. Non-anger, I fail. (So mean.) So mean, huh? So scary, Master. Oh now, don’t make me do that again. All your fault. If I live alone with my dog, would I do that? No. All your fault, it’s all your fault. Right, then. So the king cried and went back to his palace. “On the way there, he asked his ministers, ‘Through whose fault was I separated from one endowed with such uprightness like this?’” Like the monk. “So the minister said to him, ‘Your chief consort was to blame for this, Your Majesty.’” You know, his wife. It's the chief of the concubines. “Thereupon, the king had her taken by the heels, and flung head first down Robbers’ Cliff.” Oh man! He threw her down the cliff, meaning she will die. But when he ordered to throw the prince down, he did not die. The dragon caught him, the fairy took care of him. So now… “And entering his city, from then on, he ruled his kingdom justly. At that time Prince Mahā Paduma was the Great Being, and the fellow-wife of his mother was Ciñcā Mānavikā,” the second wife. End of the story of the past. “When the Buddha had made this matter clear. He said, ‘Monks, in the case of those who have abandoned one thing, the speaking of the truth, who have become confirmed in falsehood, who have rid themselves of the chance of a happy next world, there is no evil deed which way they will not commit.’ So saying, He pronounced the following stanza. ‘The person of false speech — Transgressor of one principle, Rejecter of the other world: There is no evil he cannot do.’” Meaning, if you can tell lies then you can do any other bad deeds. Even though it doesn’t seem very big, the sin. We would think killing is a greater sin than telling lies, but here the Buddha pronounced that if you can tell false… He means telling lies, harmless lie, sometimes is OK. But if you accuse somebody or you blame somebody in such a way like that, you make up a story to defame somebody, slander someone like that, this is a big lie. Then there’s nothing else bad that you could not do. Means if you’re such a person who slanders and tells a lie, fabricates a story like that to harm somebody else, then everything else, however bad, other precepts you will also destroy. Ruin yourself. Understand now? You are so clever. I’m proud of you, very proud. I was thinking there is another story but I don’t know, I will find it tomorrow. Not now anyway. And then we will have a happy time again. Everybody’s happy to be gone now. Keep the chair there. Keep the chair. Anybody else who needs a chair like that, we can arrange in the back. And then if you sit in the back, you don’t disturb anybody. Anyone else needs a chair? No? Yes? No, no? Yes, yes? No? OK, no. All right. What is it you want to show me? You mentioned there was something new? (Did I give this to You the other day?) Ah, you already gave it to me. Oh, this is big brother Sâm, huh? (Yes.) One of my cousins. This is me when I was younger. And my cousin. My cousin, big cousin is here. He’s a soil engineer, and this was me. And some of the others, the nieces and the nephews. I don’t remember them. I just remember him. I never remembered that I took a picture with him, either. First time, first time I saw it. (You have it already? Do You have this one, Master?) I already have it. Not that one, but I have this one. These are my parents, my sister, bigger sister, myself, my grandma. And who is this? (Grandma.) No. I know it’s grandma. Who is this? (Aunt Bốn.) Ah, yeah. It’s my aunt, the one who owned the jewelry shop, gold shop, gold jewelry shop. Gold and jewelry stuff. My grandma. She lived until 105. (Wow!) She was very religious. This was your Master. Your great Master. Big Master, big Guru. It’s my elder sister. She was not born at that time. Younger sister and younger brother. OK, good. All right, that’s it. And what is this? Who wrote these letters? (These are Your letters sent a long time ago. I remembered that, so I brought it with me.) Oh, really! OK, wow, thank you! Oh, wow! Thank you very much. (I read it.) OK. You want to keep it, or for me? For me, thank you, thank you, very nice. Very nice of you. You keep so many things. (This is my grandchild.) Ah, my God! Can you believe she already has a grandchild? Is it a boy? (It’s a girl, Master.) A girl, but how come she looks like a boy? OK. Girl. My grandchild, my granddaughter. She’s so young and already has. (Yes.) In Âu Lạc (Vietnam), her granddaughter is also my granddaughter. They will also call me “Grandma.” Oh, man. Feeling old. (Age of chewing betel nut.) (Everyone is old now.) Feeling old. I did not have this photo with him. I just have this photo alone. (I’ve already made my own copy last time.) Oh, is it so? (And this one I haven’t.) Oh you want to keep it? (Yes.) You want to give it to me? (Yes.) All this? OK, and this one? (Yes.) Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, my sister. You were not in the picture. It’s special. It’s special. (That one is special.) She says it’s special, special. My sister, she’s very sweet. She always says things very nice and positive, loving and kind. She was always very, very loving, sissy to my mother. I never could be like that. She was always very hugging and loving and caressing my mother. Always, “Oh I love her, she’s so nice,” and all that to my mother. I thought, “How come I never did that?” Yeah, I was never… I never did that. I never did anything like that. She was always very, very loving, and clinging to mother and make her feel so good. I said, "My God, she did a better job than I." She’d always come and caress my mother, “Oh, I love her this, I love her that. Oh mother, you’re beautiful, you’re this and that. I love so much, so much.” I never did this kind of thing to Ma and Dad. My God! Good, good girl. And she does that to the dog also, her husband also. Everybody loves her. It would be better if she be a Master and I… More sweet, everybody would love her. Maybe better. I don’t know why God picked me. Sorry you don’t have a better Master, sorry for you. She’s very sweet, very, very sweet. I haven’t seen anybody so sweet like her like that, with mother, with mother at least. I don’t know how sweet she is with him, but… with my mother. I wish I could have been like that. When I met her before, she was always very sweet. She knows how to talk sweetly and positively. Very sweet person. You’re always like that? (Yes, Master.) She’s the best in my family. I’m glad we have one, at least, in the family. (Even at the last moment before he died, he still asked for his son-in-law only…) Yeah, I know. OK. I know. My father, she says, my father loved this brother very much. It’s actually brother-in-law, but he’s just like… He stayed with our family so I call him brother. I don’t think he’s a brother-in-law, I just think he’s a brother. And my father loved him very much. Even the last moment before he died, he looked for him, he called for him. He asked for him. He loved him very much, so he’s like family. I’m glad he had such a son, finally. He always wanted a son. He never had. He had only three of us girls. Every time mother gave birth, disappointed. “How come no boy?” Only girls. All right, good. Now I’m sorry, I was a girl. If I were a boy, maybe better Master, I don’t know. (No.) No? Why not? Men, they deal with stress better. Some hormone arises. What is it they call that? (Testosterone.) Testosterone. Yes. The men, when they are stressed, or they’re angry, or they’re vexed, or they’re excited, or they’re challenged, they produce more of this… Testosterone. Testosterone. Whatever “terone” that is. And that makes them even more energetic, powerful, and they live, they thrive on it. On the contrary, we women, we also produce that if we do similar to men’s job, if we’re stressed, and then it’s bad for us. It’s not compatible to a woman’s body to have that kind of hormone arise within us. So if I were a man, you’d probably have a better Master, no? (No.) Never scold you. Or maybe like my sister, always love, love so much. Does she behave that way with you too, or she is controlling? You don’t dare say it? It’s OK, I understand. I understand. I asked him if she is also sweet like that to him or controls him, he doesn’t dare say anything. I say, “I understood.” Don’t dare to say, so I understood. It’s OK, we keep it… OK, never mind. But you know, if she controls you, that’s normal. We women, very smart. We know what’s the best. OK. It’s good then. They’re good together.

Sorcery Contest, Part 12 of 12, Aug. 11, 1991

The precepts must be strictly kept. Veganism is very good. We should have love for all beings, otherwise, we would be learning from maya. If we don’t have any compassion for the helpless animals, how can we then tolerate our enemies? No matter what good deeds we do, I’m afraid that our love is not deep enough.I don’t know what it was like in the time of Jesus Christ and Shakyamuni Buddha. Those who harmed them would all go to hell, and for a long time. But for those who harmed me, I haven’t seen them go to hell. They were ignorant, weren’t they? They did it out of ignorance. If they’d known, they wouldn’t have done it. It’s OK for the people who know. We only pity the ones who are ignorant. Like little kids who hit us recklessly, would we hit them back? Little kids who are one, two or three years old. Sometimes they play with us parents. They hit us and pull our beard or our hair, but we wouldn’t hit them back or get angry. Because they’re ignorant. Even if human beings have that kind of vicious intention or action, it is because they have not reached that level of understanding. So how can we blame an ignorant and thoughtless person? We are great gentlemen who know a lot. So we should forgive those people. I certainly will not punish them. But it is not good for them. They have to bear their guilt for a long, long time. And it is rather pitiful for them. They will regret it one day. They will, for sure, very soon. There’s not a single person who would not regret it. As I told you, when I first came to Taiwan (Formosa), there was a lot of slander. Every day we seemed to hear about some reports in the newspapers. Not anymore. No more. It was the same with us Aulacese (Vietnamese), when the Aulacese (Vietnamese) people shared my teachings at first. But not lately, not anymore. That was in the past. Almost every day I received one, two or three slanderous letters, which were so bad, so vicious and so nasty. Not anymore. I don’t know where they disappeared to. People will surely regret it and realize it one day. Because they chant the name of Ching Hai every day, it must have some effect. Yes! It doesn’t matter how you say It. When the doctor gives you medicine, it doesn’t matter if you take it with resentment or with delight, it still has an effect. Like when the doctor gives you an injection, whether you hate it or not, it still has an effect. You can’t help it. It just serves its function. Otherwise, what is the use? It would mean it is ineffective, and biased in some way. I’ve talked about the power of the Buddha, the infinite love and compassion, without discrimination. He doesn’t know if any person chants His name with resentment or delight. Chanting is chanting. Just hearing the Name is enough. There’s no need to differentiate between people who resent it and who do not. That would be too much work. Why would we make our Buddhas so busy? Being so calculating, just like worldly people. I do not keep an account. Chanting with evil intent is also chanting. It doesn’t matter how one chants. One can chant in an intangible way, without feelings or heart, or with resentment, love or respect. It would all be effective. What happens if we touch water accidentally? We’ll get wet! What happens if we touch fire accidentally? It burns! Similarly, if we meet the Buddha or Bodhisattva accidentally, resentful or not, it’s all the same. It’s fun this way! I think it’s fun. So now, I want to tell you that even if we can see the past and the future and many high realms through spiritual practice, those astral beings may still disturb us. Therefore, we have to be careful all the time, recite the Five Holy Names all the time, and protect our inner peace all the time. In any situation, we should know that it is only an illusion. Immediately pray to the inner Buddha for help, pray to God within and the Master inside. Don’t wait until it is too late and then cry. Sometimes that causes a lot of trouble, which may hurt other people. Also, don’t allow others to harm us so badly, as this also harms them. Do you understand what I mean? We just pray all the time, and it will be all right. It won’t do any harm. Even if it is not effective, it won’t hurt. It is better than gossiping. Then our spirit will be at ease. Even people who have a ferocious heart would be affected when chanting the Buddha’s Name, let alone those of us who are cool and calm, kind and virtuous, who are always praying. Of course, it will be more effective. If it is not better, then it would be similar anyway. So don’t wait until the time has passed and the matter is overdue, before praying to Master or reciting the Five Holy Names. Sometimes there are serious consequences. It’s troublesome. It’s not that you cannot be saved. That’s the only method that can protect us. The couple, for example, practiced quite well, they called themselves masters. Masters who could teach people and emit light. OK, I believe that. But despite that, they couldn’t save themselves. When somebody came in suddenly, the impact was so strong. They were often like that. They dared not get close to people. Even disciples were not allowed to be around them. They had to learn everything by heart. Very few could enter their home. OK, I believe the degree of their sensitivity. But I think it is probably because they ate meat. They said that they didn’t drink and could not bear the smell of tobacco smoke, so they dare not go anywhere. But they could bear meat. They could bear it. It didn’t matter what level they were at, if they ate meat, they couldn’t withstand it. They had little capacity for endurance. That is why they dared not touch people, not to mention thousands of people coming to be initiated. Before people even meet you, you’d be finished if they just say your name. So being loving and vegan will reform people a little. That’s why you shouldn’t listen to people outside and be tempted when you see them eat meat while practicing spiritually. The precepts must be strictly kept. Veganism is very good. We should have love for all beings, otherwise, we would be learning from maya. If we don’t have any compassion for the helpless animals, how can we then tolerate our enemies? Our enemies may put up a strong resistance, while animals are helpless, defenseless, and innocent. If we can bear to eat them, I’m afraid that we do not have enough love. No matter what good deeds we do, I’m afraid that our love is not deep enough. Not deep enough to be moved by the animals. I don’t know how you feel since becoming vegan. When I see an ant was accidently stepped on, and he rolls back and forth, or has one leg or some other part broken, it tears my heart out. Sometimes I stay there and watch him for a long time. I cannot bear it, and keep saying to him, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” I really feel great pain in my heart, seeing him struggling between life and death. I cannot even kill him to relieve his pain. Because if I kill him, after he dies, he’ll remain in agony, thinking he is still alive and rolling back and forth there. This is like when people get wounded or have a car accident; after they die, they still think they are covered in blood and their face is smashed. Sometimes they show that face to people. Or if people who drown are not liberated and don’t have a Master to guide them, they think that they are still alive and feel cold all the time. No matter what clothes you give them to wear, they’ll say that they are freezing. It is because our astral body is very sensitive, similar to our physical body, only more sensitive. That’s why we say spiritual practitioners are hundreds and thousands times more sensitive. After we practice spiritually, we become more and more separated from this physical body. Our spirit becomes very much detached. We still have to roll around in this world, but our sensitivity increases hundreds of times. We still have to live in such a coarse place. We are already very sensitive, but still we have to stay here. We’ve become different. Sometimes the more you practice, like if you help with my work, with my lectures or whatever, then later you don’t eat much. Not because you are full. Not because the food is not good. But because your level has risen far above the world, and into the far future. So the food seems rather strange to you. You don’t belong to this world. It is just that we have to endure this place, but our Self is no longer here. Sometimes we have to come and go, in order to deal with the karma of the world. So when we come back, we are under great pressure and suffer a lot. So sometimes the more we practice, the more pressure and pain we feel. Don’t be afraid. That means we are already on a very high level, because we are more sensitive. It is not that the world gives us more pressure. No, no. Sometimes our level is so high, we cannot bear the pressure. We still have to be patient, OK? Be patient, recite the Five Holy Names, and practice more. After a few decades or a few years, we will be gone. It won’t be long. This is your last life. You only have to bear it for the last time, OK? Thank you, thank you for coming for tea. OK, you may go eat now. I am a little bit late once in a while. Will you blame me for it? (No.) Just pay a little bit more for the tour buses. If you don’t have enough money, you can ask us for it, OK? (Hallo, Master.) (Hallo, Master.) (Hallo, Master.) (Hallo, Master.) Are there people who are not coming? Those who didn’t come, please raise your hand. (Hallo, Master.) It’s hotter here, isn’t it? (We can bear it.) Yes, it is bearable. How is your husband? He didn’t come to see me? (Hallo, Master.) Thank you. (Master.) Hey, it’s you. Bye! (Master, You are really beautiful.) I need to make myself look beautiful once in a while. Otherwise, you will think that I became your Master because no one wants me. Otherwise, you will think that you’re the only beautiful ones. OK, bye! (See You, Master.) Where should I walk so it’s fair to everyone? (Hallo, Master.) OK. You can never see enough. Do you know that? Bye-bye, bye-bye. (Hallo, Master.) Everyone, take care. Did anyone translate for him? Does he know Chinese? (He knows Chinese.) Wonderful. There will be an initiation next week. OK?

Buddhist Stories: Cinca the Brahmin Girl, Part 3 of 5, Sep. 27, 2015

Many Indian people don't go to Gangotri, the source of the Ganges River, where the ice melts and becomes the water of the Ganges. The source of the Ganges River, I went there, bathed in it. I told you already. I count “one, two, three,” jump in and jump out, because it's too frozen. Even in May it's still frozen. Now. “On the following day, the monks began a discussion in the Hall of Truth.” Just like the hall of meditation where the Master always comes and teaches and preaches, where the Buddha comes and preaches to the multitude, they call it the Hall of Truth. “‘Brethren…’” They talk among themselves, the monks say to themselves, like brothers. “‘Brothers, Ciñcā Mānavikā, because she falsely accused the Possessor of Eminent Virtues…’” Meaning the Buddha. This is one of His titles also. “‘…the Foremost Recipient of Offerings, the Supremely Exalted, came to her utter ruin.’” Meaning this woman, she accused the Buddha, the Enlightened One, the Tathāgata, the Supreme Virtue, etc. They’re praising the Buddha with different titles. So, therefore, she came to utter ruin. “The Master,” the Buddha, “approached and asked them, ‘Monks, what are you sitting here now and talking about?’ So when they told Him, He said, ‘Monks, this is not the first time she has falsely accused me and come to utter ruin herself. She did the same thing in a previous state of existence also.’ Having thus spoken, He said, ‘Unless a king discerns clearly fault on the part of another, after himself investigating carefully all the facts, both small and great, he should not inflict punishment.’” Meaning, you should not judge before you really thoroughly research about any matter, the facts. That's all. “So saying, He related in detail this Mahā Paduma Jātaka,” the story of the past of this woman in connection with Him in a former life. Are you OK? You want to continue tomorrow? (No.) (Yes.) So tired. You all right? (No, no. We’re OK.) We have some high chairs outside. Could you please get me a high chair like that? Then you could sit in the corner. Give me a high chair outside. You know one of those chairs that we put in the kitchen. Small one is good enough, just so that he can sit more comfortably. I feel your discomfort. I do feel that. Two chairs for the two elderly… (No, no, one only.) One only? (I sit…) One only. (He's the only [one who] feels…) Yeah, of course, of course. Everybody's different. Bodies are different, age different, reaction different. So we cannot measure everybody the same. If he sits in the corner where you sit, then no disturbing. He changes, OK. It’s coming, coming. The chair is coming. OK, so we continue with the story of the past, how this woman in a former life also did the same to the Buddha. So she kept going up, slandered Him, and went back to hell. And then after cleaning up the sin, went back up again, and did similar to the Buddha if He came back to life. The same with Devadatta. This is the thing. People are doing good things in this life or doing bad things in this life. Yeah, it's OK. Why don't you take the round chair instead? Come here, here, anyway. Is this chair safe? I saw it broken. (No.) OK, come, come, come. Are you really OK? (Yes, OK.) All right, good. You're a tough guy, tough guy. Corner, corner, corner. Yeah, like that. Be careful with this spiritual equipment down there. Heavenly ears (earphones for translation). Careful, careful with the equipment. OK, good, good. That's it. Buddha, go up to your dais. I'm sorry for your inconvenience. (Thank You.) Yes, you are very welcome, my love. You’re very welcome. Sorry. I should have taken care earlier, but I thought you're a tough guy. We used to have chairs and sofa and everything here, but no room anymore. It’s not like my house is uncivilized like this. We had a table, dining table, chairs, sofa, bed for me and for dogs. Now all gone, all gone, all gone out. In the evening, you can sit on some of the beds for the boys, and let all the boys go down on the floor, and sit there. A big bed, so even if you fall down, it doesn't matter. So it's easier for your legs. There was another person before, French, oh no, Togo. He also had a problem, looked similar to you. So now… So the Buddha related… Relate, right? No. Relay or relate? Tell, recount… No. “Raconte.” How to say “raconte” in English? (Tell.) Tell? So simple? There’s a more elegant word than that? So the Buddha told the story now of the past life with this woman. “At one time, Ciñcā Mānavikā…” This is a story of the past, titled “The Lewd Woman and the Youth.” “At that time, it appears Ciñcā Mānavikā was reborn as one of the chief consorts of the king, fellow-wife of the mother of the future Buddha.” A long time ago. “Prince Mahā Paduma.” At one time, the Buddha was the prince in another country. A long time before He became Buddha, He was also a prince, but in another lifetime, another country. His name is Prince Mahā Paduma. “She invited the Great Being to lie with her.” Meaning, the prince. At that time, they called him the Great Being, referring to the future Buddha. At that time, he wasn't a Buddha, the prince. So this woman, she wanted to seduce the prince, her stepson actually, to have a relationship with her, physical relationship with her, to lie down with her. “And when he refused to do so, she disfigured her own body with her own hands, faked sickness, and told the king, ’Your son brought me to this pass because I would not lie with him.’” She told the opposite story, understand? Yeah. Women! “The king, hearing this, was filled with rage, and straightaway flung the Great Being…” Meaning, the future Buddha, the prince, at that time, “…down the Robbers’ Cliff. The deity dwelling in the mountain cared for him, and placed him safe and sound with the hood of the King of the Dragons. The King of the Dragons carried him to the abode of the dragons and honored him by conferring upon him half of his kingly power.” Wow. So kind! (Yes.) Dragons, people fear them, thinking they’re bad, they breathe fire. They're so kind to the prince because he's a good boy. You see, when you’re good, even animals or dragons, or fierce beings, they're kind to you. Right. Kingly power even. Maybe gave him half of the kingdom and some of his magical power. “After the Great Being…” meaning the prince at that time, and this future Buddha. “After the Great Being had dwelt there for a year, he conceived a desire to adopt the life of an ascetic. Accordingly, he went to the Himalaya country.” Oh! Himalaya country, you know where it is? Just to test. You know where the Himalaya country is? No? (India.) India. Only you know? Do you know, two of you? I thought you did not know. (Of course. No, of course we know.) I thought the Indians didn't know where the Himalaya is, so I just tested. Just for fun; I know you know. I know, I know where the Himalaya is. I know the Gangotri. I know everything, some. I know something that the Indian people don't know. The water just melts directly from the ice, and around is still snowing everywhere. It doesn't snow, but the snow is still there. It takes a long time to melt because it’s very thick snow in the Himalaya, especially where the Ganges River, the source, the head of the Ganges River. That water is so clean. I thought I’d follow all the Indians who believe that if you bathe in the Ganges River once, or wash yourself, then your sins are all washed. I just make sure that I do it three times. Because it’s very cold. No, no… I don't see anybody dip themselves in the Ganges River there. Only I did it. Everybody looked. “Oh!” The Indians wrapped themselves in a blanket. “Oh!” And they just used some water, dab, dab, dab, dab, dab… like that. And then they left. They believed their sins are gone. I did not believe sins are gone so fast. So I did it three times. And when you come out of the river of water, you feel like your body expands, and like many flowers open, blooming from your skin. And I did it again and again, three times, just to make sure. Everything good is three, right? They say. So I made sure my sins were gone. I wasn't sure but just to be safe. Oh, man! When I came back from that trip, one of the Indian Master, Sawan Singh's disciples he was very old already with a beard, long, like, as much as the Master, and he looked like a Master himself, senior disciple of the older generation. He came and prostrated in front of me. I was so scared. I was reading some discarded piece of newspaper in English. I don't know who dropped it there, I was reading. He came and touched my feet to his head. Oh, I was so scared, I ran away. I wonder if it's because of the Himalaya experience, the Ganges River, that they knew I went there. They knew I went there. Maybe because of that. (Is it Charan Singh?) No, no, no. No. (Disciple of…) Disciple of… in a Sawan ashram. So it must be the disciple of Sawan Singh, because he was old, very old. But maybe a disciple of Kirpal Singh, I don't know. But he was very old already. I was only around 30. And his beard was so white and long, and his head, hair white, and he's very dignified, like a Master himself. An old disciple, older generation than me. I could call him like grandpa. Grandpa-disciple or grandpa-master, not the same generation. Not the same Master at that time. So anyway, maybe because of that, Indian people, they respect people who went to the Himalaya, Gangotri, and still survive and come back. Because some people don't come back. It's dangerous. They say that. I didn't feel any danger, but they say it’s very dangerous to go there. If anyone can go there once in their lifetime, then they can boast about it, and everybody knows about it and… Is that true? (Yes.) But why? It's dangerous? Or because the… (No, Ganges is supposed to be a very blessed river.) Supposed to be what? (Blessed river. Ganges is supposed to be a very blessed river.) (Divine river.) Huh? A divine river. Pure. (Pure. Divine.) Meaning, if you went there and take a bath, then you became purified. (Yes.) Like a saint. (Right.) OK. I should go again and then back again and then more and more pure all the time. (No, we are coming here for that only.) Oh, God. Not the Gangotri? (No, no.) All right then. I'm not a river, OK? (No, not river.) In case you're mistaken. (Ocean of Love.) OK, OK. Anyway… All right. So the Buddha said that his stepmother, the queen, the queen stepmother of him, at one time, long time ago when he was a prince, accused him falsely for sleeping with… no, of wanting to sleep with her. And he refused. So she beat herself up, tore her clothes, to make the king jealous, and feel like his son did something bad to his wife, his second wife, something like that. He had many concubines anyway. So what's wrong with losing only one. He had so many wives that some of them he never even knew where she lived or what she did in the palace. Most kings are like that, they have many, many concubines. So maybe they have three wives, main wives, and the rest are concubines they don't even know. Concubine, he doesn't even know them. Never had a chance to talk to them or touch them, nothing. But nobody is allowed to marry them. Nobody is allowed to touch them, either. They’re, like, finished. That's the old time. So now the king threw him down the cliff. But the celestial beings and the dragons saved him, saved him and cared for him. But in one year after, he wanted to become a monk, ascetic monk. “So accordingly, he went to the Himalayan country.” You know, right? India. So, everything good happens in India. How come he kept being reborn again, again and again in India? India seems to be the cradle of spiritual spirits, spiritual lineage, spiritual Masters, somehow. I don't know why. Probably it's a good place to be. Because Indian people, they respect so much the Saints. And they have freedom of religion. They even worship stones, cows, rats, snakes. So they harm no one. So if I go to India, I’d probably have all the great honor, never slandered, nothing. Because even the rat can be a guru there, so why not me? I was thinking about that. In other countries, some people believe, some people not, some people pray, some people slander. But in India, I’d be safe. So one day if you don't find me anymore here, then you’ll know. You’ll know. You’ll know why, and you’ll know where I will be. Indian people, they’re so pure. You know they have temples for rats. (Yes.) They feed rats. And that temple, one is very famous. There're many… a lot of rats live there, and they drink together in one bowl of milk. They give them milk every day. And the humans come and even drink with the rats. Yeah, for blessing, like Prasad. Just like you want me to give you (vegan) cakes, candies. The rats, if they drink together same milk in the bowl with the rats, they feel (Good.) blessed. Understand? Yes. And then they also wish to be born again as a rat. Yeah! Some people worship… Some worship snakes and wish to be born as a snake. You don't know. Indian people, they are very liberal. They respect all beings. They even worship Ganesh, which is an elephant. Is Ganesh an elephant, or a monkey? (Yes. Ganesh, son of Lord Shiva.) Monkey or elephant? (Elephant.) Elephant. And they also… There’s Hanuman. They also worship a monkey. (Monkey.) Yeah. Hanuman. You see? (Yes.) You see that? (Yes.) And here, they don't even worship anybody. Not to talk about monkey or elephant, they kill them and eat them. If the Buddha is born now, maybe He’d also become soup. Who knows? If they don't have any more monkey and elephant or rat to kill or to put in a laboratory for torturing, tests, maybe they put the Buddha in there. Who knows? Scary humans.

Sorcery Contest, Part 11 of 12, Aug. 11, 1991

I’m telling you this by the way. This is a true story. Those ghosts really exist, and hell really exists. But everything is created by the mind. It depends on what we did in our past lives and what we do in this life. When we die, we will bring out that vibration, that kind of expectation and desire. Then we get used to it, as if we are frozen at that level.I told you about a couple last week, about the person who had written many books. He was afraid of others. He was afraid of running into others, or someone suddenly coming in. One day, they were not prepared. When we go out to work and become used to it, we know how to be prepared inside at all times. Recite the Five Holy Names, pray to Master, and pray to our inner protective power all the time. It’s a habit. But if we are at home, with family members or fellow practitioners, we are more relaxed and not on guard. They couldn’t stand people. They could not bear the vibration of the people next door, barking of dogs, and noise from the children. They wanted tranquility to be able to communicate with the higher world. I won’t tell you which level is the so-called higher world of theirs. I also don’t know. So we won’t talk about that. OK, they could not bear the disturbance. Only the two of them were home usually, the husband and wife. They could not bear it if other people came in, so they seldom invited anyone into their home. Even if they did, they were very careful. They first checked if the person was fine before inviting him. They did not invite just anyone. They tried to protect their spiritual magnetic field. OK, that is all right. Once, his disciple or fellow brother… His TV was out of order. The TV was broken, so his disciple took the TV out to be fixed, and then asked two men to bring a rented TV inside, a temporarily rented TV. The couple was inside and did not know about this, because the disciple had not told them. When they were not home, he dealt with things like that. Their trusted disciples occasionally came to help. So he changed the TV set. The couple happened to be home doing something when suddenly two men entered with the TV. The couple began to roll around on the floor, their stomachs, heads, and bodies hurting all over. It was unbearable. They said they had never felt like this. It was because of that TV and the two men. The TV had been used by too many people, who sometimes watched when the atmosphere was not clean. So that TV was surrounded by vicious astral beings and ghosts. When they saw the couple, they immediately began to hit them. I’m telling you this by the way. This is a true story. Those ghosts really exist, and hell really exists. But everything is created by the mind. It depends on what we did in our past lives and what we do in this life. When we die, we will bring out that vibration, that kind of expectation and desire. Then we get used to it, as if we are frozen at that level. Sometimes we come across reports in newspapers and TV about investigations of sudden deaths, like those killed in battle or those who die in the army. They die suddenly without being mentally prepared. It seems that they are shocked and die unprepared. It is very sudden. The so-called silver cord is cut off abruptly. It is so sudden that they cannot bear it. They are suddenly frozen in that situation, like they are trapped in a box from which they cannot escape. And they deeply believe that they are still fighting the war and are still in the army. They remain there shouting and yelling every day. And they kill anyone they meet and anything they see. They regard any illusions, people or things that they see, as their enemy, and they are still fighting a war. So those soldiers or those who die suddenly, are really to be pitied. Without a Master, they are unable to break free from that situation. It is the same with suicide. The confusion and pain one feels at the time of suicide will remain after death. Death does not lift one out of the sea of misery. No, no! If we don’t learn anything when we are young, we won’t have knowledge when we are old. Like, if you are poor now, how can you become rich when you get old? It is the same. The atmosphere of war is the most terrifying. It prevents many ghosts from escaping that state of existence. And after a long time, if someone does escape and becomes a human again, he will still be inclined to live that kind of life. He will still fight, and remain in a state of wrath. This world really harms people a lot. That’s why most spiritual practitioners are opposed to war. Of course, they cannot oppose it openly all the time, as if they are starting a revolution. They may be misunderstood as being involved in politics. But they are very opposed to it inside, because it is harmful to people. No matter what the excuse is, it is never good. It’s not good for people. They won’t have peace even after death. That can’t be helped. Now let’s go back to the TV. That TV was full of that kind of violence. OK, so that kind of energy will attract those vicious war-like astral ghosts. Because those ghosts have been fighting in wars life after life, thousands or hundreds of years ago. And they are still not free from that state of awareness. They still think that they are generals or tyrants, that they have many troops, and they keep seeking people to fight, to protect their ideals or position. So the couple came in contact with that TV and the two men. The two men were not clean, not because of their appearance, but their spirits were not clean. So they brought in that kind of energy, because like attracts like. Those war-loving or vicious people would attract vicious astral beings. They would attract them to their homes. But they also knew that it was a practitioner’s home. Don’t think that devils dare not go into the homes of spiritual practitioners. They like them the best! A practitioner’s home is a devil’s favorite place to go. So you see, sometimes we have many obstacles in our practice, even more obstacles than before. It is because they want to make trouble. They like to come and absorb our magnetic field of spiritual practice. Some are kind enough to just stand by or enjoy it from a distance, just grabbing a little. Some come in and create disturbances for us. Because it’s their habit. They are used to fighting with others, snatching things and disturbing others’ mental peace. So when they come into a practitioner’s home, they don’t respect the rules. Instead of taking things quietly, they do it with violence. So they create great disturbances to our spirit. When those astral beings came in, they immediately grabbed the couple around the solar plexus and attacked them. The couple rolled on the floor, suffering severe pain for one or two hours. But within that couple of hours, some of their so-called invisible brothers who practiced well, immediately came to their rescue. They dragged the astral beings away and taught them a lesson. They didn’t drag them with violence. They used light. By continuously projecting light on them until they softened and became more spiritually inclined. They finally softened after bathing in the light for a couple of hours. Can you imagine that? It’s so scary. They used light to cleanse them. After the cleansing, they became good and obedient, and were willing to leave on their own. They knew that their past actions and level were not good. So they wanted to move quickly to a better place. Our Taoist sister said the same thing just now. The ghosts said to her, “Now we want to leave this dark world to go to a better world.” They attained this realization and left because they’d been reformed. We don’t use knives or swords, or shoot swords of light at them. We don’t chase after them either. So sometimes you ask me to banish someone who’s possessed. I will not do it. It’s no use driving someone out. It’s better to reform him. If he commits the same offense repeatedly for a long time and refuses to change, then I will kick him out. But it doesn’t mean abandoning him. Kicking him out, but helping him invisibly. That is different. It is just so he could not disturb others here, but I’ll let him go somewhere else and teach him in different ways. Do you know what I mean? It is not abandoning him, ignoring him, or killing him. It is teaching him in different ways. The couple was almost killed after being affected by the astral beings. If their invisible brothers who had great spiritual power did not come to help, they wouldn’t have survived. But even though those astral beings came to attack the spiritual practitioners, they still benefited from the light from a good level. So those who harm spiritual practitioners also go unpunished sometimes. Their level was already too low to drop any further. You know what I mean? In fact, how much more could they be punished? They could only be punished by becoming demons, which they already were. But if we human beings have that kind of vicious heart, we will sink down to the level of demons. But when I think about it, the way I see it, even someone who harms me, will not go to a very bad place. He will definitely regret it someday, though. Because he has met Master, he cannot help being touched by Master’s Light. He cannot help being affected by Master’s spirit of practice. So sooner or later, he will regret it. When he does, he will get his chance. He can’t help it. It is impossible to run away from the Light. Where can he go to get away from the infinite and limitless Light? That’s why it’s called Infinite Light. How can he run away from It? Anywhere he goes, he is still within the Light. So he will not be hurt much.

Buddhist Stories: Cinca the Brahmin Girl, Part 2 of 5, Sep. 27, 2015

This is a terrible sin. To slander someone and dishonor his reputation is just as bad as killing him, or worse, especially when that person is an enlightened Saint and doing nothing harmful to no one. Just preaching good and reminding people to do good, or teaching them a liberation path. That's why. They called her to come because somebody advised them that this woman, if you engage her, you can defame the Buddha. But they also didn't know what to do. So they just called her there, and then she stood there, and they stood there, and they didn't know what to say. So finally… She kept asking many times, so they said, “OK, do whatever you can to defame the Gautama, the Buddha.” So she said she will do it. Woman, clever. “From that time on, she employed all her skills in the art of a woman to affect her purpose.” “When the residents of Sravasti were returning from Jetavana, after listening to the Dharma from the Buddha, she would put on a cloak of red color, and bearing perfumes and garlands in her hands, would walk in the direction of Jetavana.” The followers and the disciples of the Buddha were walking from Jetavana, to go home. And she, this woman, so-called nun, wearing a red coat, meaning very, very opulent, very eye-catching clothes, and perfume and flowers, and decorating, make-up herself, was walking the opposite direction to Jetavana, to where the Buddha resided. And you probably understood already what's going on. “And then the people, of course asked her, ‘Where are you going at this time of day?’” “And she said, ‘What business of yours is it where I am going?’” Saying, “Mind your own business.” She didn't even answer. “And then she would reply that. And then she would spend the night near Jetavana, at the monastery of the sectarians. And early in the following morning, when throngs of lay disciples were coming out of the city for the purpose of rendering the morning greeting to the Buddha, she would wend her way back and re-enter the city.” As if she stayed the whole night in Jetavana Park. But she didn't. She stayed in the temple of these sectarian, jealous teachers. “So people asked again, ‘Where have you spent the night?’” people asked her. “So she said, ‘It's not your business where I spent my night.’ And then she just left again. So, after the lapse of a month and a half, she kept doing like this. Whenever they asked her this question, she would reply, ‘I spent the night at Jetavana alone with the monk Gautama in the Perfumed Chamber.’” Perfumed Chamber is the place where they built specially for the Buddha alone to stay, apart from other monks and people. So she said she spent the night with Gautama the Buddha in His Perfumed Room. So, after one month and a half, then she replied like that. Before she just said, “No, none of your business.” But after a while, five, six weeks, she said, “I spent the night with the Buddha.” She didn't say, “The Buddha.” She said, “Gautama, the monk.” “And by her answer she caused doubts and misgivings to spring up in the minds of those who were still worldlings.” Meaning the ones who were not truly enlightened yet. They were not very highly enlightened and not very diligent in practice, in order to perceive inside knowledge. Not just by hearing, but knowing intuitively inside. Or by vision, or by wisdom, knowing that it's not true or it is true. So they listened to her. This kind of people, easily swayed, faith is not firm. Enlightenment little, ego big, ignorance bigger. So they kind of doubted now. They felt like believing in her, something, somewhat. So these people were still “worldlings,” meaning they were not saintly yet. Even though they were monks, even though they followed the Buddha, but they were not above the world level yet, not above human level yet. They call them “worldlings.” So these worldlings had doubts in their minds. “So they said to themselves…” But who wouldn't? Who wouldn't? It is too obvious, right? The way she was doing, was too obvious. Who wouldn't believe, right? Doesn't matter saint or not saint. Maybe people were just thinking like that. “So they said to themselves, ‘Is this true, or is this false?’ When three or four months had gone by, she wrapped her belly about with bandages, to create the impression that she was pregnant, and dressing herself in a scarlet cloak. She went about, saying, ‘I have conceived a child by the monk Gautama.’ Thus did she deceive utter simpletons.” You know, stupid people. “When eight months or nine months had gone by, she fastened a disc of wood to her belly, drew a cloak over it, and produced swellings all over her body by pounding her hands and feet and back with the jawbone of an ox, and pretending to be physically exhausted. Then she went one evening to the Hall of Truth and stood before the Tathāgata,” meaning the Buddha. “There in His gloriously adorned Seat of Truth, sat the Tathāgata teaching the Dharma. And standing there before Him, Ciñcā Mānavikā opened her lips and reviled Him, saying, ‘Mighty monk, mighty is the throng to which You teach the Dharma. Sweet is Your voice, soft are Your lips. Nevertheless, You are the one by whom I have conceived a child, and the time of my delivery is near at hand. But in spite of all this, You make no effort to provide a lying-in chamber for me, nor do You offer to provide me with ghee or oil, and such other things as I need. And failing Yourself to attend to Your duty…’” You know, as a father. “‘Neither do You say to any one of Your supporters, the king of Kosala, or Anāthapiṇḍika or Visākhā, Your eminent female disciple: “Do for this young woman what should be done for her.” You never said anything like that. You know well enough how to take Your pleasure, but You do not know how to look after the child You have begotten.’ So, thus, she was reviling the Buddha in the midst of the congregation,” in the public, at that time, in the public. “Even as a woman with a mass of dung in her hand might seek to defile the face of the moon.” Maybe just useless, that's what they mean. How can you defile the face of the moon? Today is a good story because we have Moon Festival. (The moon.) I did not think like that, but it's a proper story. Moon Festival, moon story. “So the Tathāgata stopped His discourse, and like a lion’s roar, He cried out, He yelled out.” Normally the Buddha doesn't yell, but He probably was upset or angry at these lies. So He yelled like, He roared like a lion, saying, “Sister, as to whether what you have said is true or false, that is something which only you and I know.” He didn't even deny it. But this is the thing, Buddha’s behavior. They behave like that, very noble. He didn't say, “No, you tell lies, you woman, you’re wicked, you do not say things like this about me. You know it's not true.” He didn't say that. He said, “Whatever you said, true or not true, only you and I know.” He meant to her that she knew it was not true. And He knew it was not true. But He didn't deny. He didn't, kind of like, trash her or anything. So noble, in front of the whole assembly of lay disciples, monks and nuns and kings and everybody, He said nothing like that. “So she said, ‘Yes, mighty monk, but who is to decide between the truth and the falsehood of what is known only to you and to me?’” She meant: How can we tell anybody else? Everybody else should know about that. “So at that moment, Śakra…” Śakra, the god, the Lord of the 33 gods in the 33 Pleasure Heaven, “his seat suddenly became hot in Heaven.” It’s just a sign of something wrong in the world, some connection with him somehow. So he felt heated, his seat. “So, therefore, he pondered the cause and became aware of the following: Ciñcā Mānavikā is falsely accusing the Tathāgata.” “Tathāgata” is one of the titles of the Buddha, meaning, “Thus come.” “So he said to himself,” “the god Śakra said to himself, ‘I will clear up this matter.’ So he set out with four deities, four of his assistants from Heaven. And these four deities, his assistants, turned themselves…” Stretch your legs, man, stretch. Turn, stretch correctly. Don't worry about the Indian custom with the Guru and stretching leg in front of the Guru. Nothing. Don't worry about it. I'm not Indian, so you're free. In the Indian custom, you don't stretch your… (Yes.) You don't put your legs toward the Guru. You don't sleep with your legs, your foot, toward the Guru. You don't sit in the same height seat as the Guru. Something like that. But I said, “I'm not Indian.” I'm not a Mataji in India. So you're free. You stretch your legs wherever you want. Be comfy, because it's not comfortable sitting long on the floor. I'm sorry we cannot provide any more than this. (It’s OK.) Yeah, all right. And also we age, you and I age. And when we age, the body complains, quietly, but very loudly. And here it’s a little bit humid in this season, so your bones will feel a little trouble. I put two boxes of medicine, small boxes of medicine outside next to the boiler machine, (Yes.) where you boil your tea. You use it to rub. You rub whenever you like and then return it there so other people can use it. There are instructions inside. OK? (Yes.) “So Śakra, the god, he set forth with his four deities, four assistant deities, the Heavenly assistants,” his secretaries. And probably his drivers, and his housekeeper, and another sub-secretary or shadow secretary, what they call it in England: shadow secretary. “Shadow,” sounds not very trustworthy, is it? In America, they say vice secretary. But shadow secretary... (Shadow.) And even shadow minister. Oh, I thought this is... What a name. It sounds dubious, sounds scary. All right then. So he went down with the four shadow sub-gods. And then these four deities, or devas, or whatever, they changed themselves, by magic power, into mice, rats. “And with one bite of their teeth…” They came down. They came down from Heaven, all the way down to where the Buddha sat, and they turned themselves into mice. “And then with one bite of their teeth, these little mice severed the cords with which the disc of wood was fastened to the belly of the woman. At that moment, the wind blew up the cloak which was wrapped around her, and the disc of wood fell upon her feet, cutting off the toes of both her feet as well. Thereupon the multitude cried out, ‘A hag is reviling the Supreme Enlightened One!’ So they spat on her head, and taking clods of earth and sticks in their hands, drove her out of Jetavana,” where the Buddha was. The Buddha didn't say anything, but it just happened like that. “As she passed out of sight of the Tathāgata, the great earth split apart, an abyss opened under her feet, and flames shot up from Avīci hell. Thus, she was swallowed up, enveloped as it were in a scarlet blanket, such as is presented by a wealthy family, and reborn in the Avīci hell.” Avīci hell is the hell that is non-stop punishment. You don't have one second of rest. They punish you forever and forever and forever. And it could be a very, very long time, like eternity. And this is called also like a non-stop, non-interrupted hell, one of the non-interrupted hells. Meaning, whatever punishment they meted out to you, you have it all day long, 24 hours, every second of the day. They make you die, they make you suffer, and then you revive again. And then you live again, and then continue again and again, and again and again. This is the worst hell of all, without any repose in between. It’s reserved for the real deep criminals. The bad, the worst. It's not that the Buddha wanted it that way. It's just her karma drew her down there, not the Buddha. The Buddha never wanted to punish anybody at all. Not even did the Śakra god want that. Just the karma draws people to where they belong. This is terrible, to slander the innocent Buddha. That's why. The slanderers who slander normal people, yes, you will also reap punishment. But to slander an enlightened Saint, this is the worst you can do to yourself. So she went direct, immediately, with flames even, shooting up, to drag her down to the Avīci hell. “From that time, the gain and honor of the sectarians decreased even further.” They wanted to gain more, but now they got less. “But the offerings presented to the Master,” Buddha, “increased more and more.” Of course, now His fame was more than before. So actually, she was helping the Buddha. And the sectarians, in a way were helping the Buddha. But as you sow, so shall you reap. They did not intend to help the Buddha that way. They intended to harm Him. Therefore, they had to reap the consequences like that. And this is not yet to do with the other teachers yet. It's just the girl only. Because she's the one, herself, thought of this scheme. They also did not tell her what to do, or they also didn't know what to do to defame the Buddha. But she herself, though being a nun in the Brahmin sect, is also very noble, thought of this way to really slander Him, degrade Him in front of the multitude. This is a terrible sin. To slander someone and dishonor his reputation is just as bad as killing him, or worse, especially when that person is an enlightened Saint and doing nothing harmful to no one. Just preaching good and reminding people to do good, or teaching them a liberation path. That's why.

Sorcery Contest, Part 10 of 12, Aug. 11, 1991

In this universe, the “soft” always overpowers the “hard.” The more effortless, the more formless, the more invisible, the more gentle, the more powerful. See how important the air is for us! And water is able to wear away any rock. And qi can nourish the whole body and the whole universe. And that formless qi is the vibration of Quan Yin. That is more incredible. Nothing is better than that, because It is the Mother of the universe, who gives birth to the whole creation. If we can catch It, we would have all the secrets of the universe in our hands. If we don’t train ourselves well, and don’t practice diligently, this mind of ours will not be convinced. It will think that we are lying, and will not let us go up. We will obstruct ourselves. Therefore, we still have to practice to cleanse our mind. We have to let the mind understand that we are different now, we are really fit to be a Buddha or Bodhisattva now, and then it will be convinced. Then we will have no problem. In spiritual practice, we fix this mind, which has recorded too many bad things life after life. It won’t allow us to let go of our guilty feelings. That’s why we have to practice and train it. Every day we use the (inner Heavenly) Light to shine on all the cells in our body and to teach our mind. Inside each of our cells, the good and bad impressions of past lives are recorded. This causes karma. Sometimes, even though someone only gets a glimpse of you, he knows what you did in your past life or in this lifetime. It is because all the cells and vibrations of the body record very clearly, our every action, every move and every thought. Our desires are written down very clearly. So we can’t cheat anyone. There’s a saying, that when we die and see the king of hell, there will be a mirror where we can see our whole life very clearly, just like watching TV. But it’s very fast and very easy. This is true. This is our own Self. Our own ability to record everything. That’s why people can tell. Spiritual practitioners can tell a person’s past, present, and future lives. Our own karma is recorded in our body and mind, or in the so-called vibration around us. Everyone has that vibration, no matter if he practices or not. The more you practice, the less of that kind of vibration you have. So now when we go out and mingle with worldly people, we will definitely encounter that kind of vibration. The more we practice, the more sensitive we become. Don’t think that you will have more protective power as you practice more. You will, but your sensitivity will increase hundreds, thousands, and tens of thousands of times. Did you think that Jesus Christ felt no pain when He was nailed to the Cross? The pain was killing Him! It was more intense than other people would feel. Because His body was not like that of ordinary people. His body was very, very sensitive. All His cells were completely changed. It is dangerous, very distressing, awful and helpless for this kind of person to be in this world. Sometimes they give me a massage, like these days when my body hurts. Whether or not it is due to karma, I just feel pain. The pain is unbearable. So some of them who know how, gave me a massage. They said that they didn’t exert any pressure, but I could not bear it as soon as they touched me. I am not the kind of person to cry out easily. Because my father was a doctor, I was not afraid to give myself injections when I was little. I gave myself injections here. Wherever it was easy to do, I could do it. Sometimes I could also inject here. You know, one-third of it here. It is OK here, very convenient. Or when others give me a shot or take my blood sample, “blood?” (Blood.) Blood. I am not afraid to watch. But some people scream before anyone touches them. I am not that type of person. But the massage really hurt. It was unbearable. Unbearable! So I pulled my leg away. They applied the same pressure as they do for people outside. They didn’t think that I’d be so sensitive. If you take a good look, you can see that my skin looks transparent, as if you can see the bones inside. It’s very fine and transparent. Every time I go abroad, it is easier to take her with me than others whom I usually work with. She has hands that really look like she has practiced karate. Wow! Whenever she touches me, I would scream and wake up the whole state. It’s unbearable. She has kung fu hands. Or it is because my body is very sensitive. I can only speak for myself. I don’t know about others, like Jesus Christ. I haven’t practiced very much and yet I am so sensitive. Of course, it might have been even worse for Jesus Christ. It must have been very painful when He was nailed. I heard that He wept. He wept not only for Himself, but also for the ignorant beings who crucified Him. With the karma they created, who knows how many thousands of years are needed for them to be liberated. Because their level was too low. It was the level of demons and beasts. One must have no compassion to be able to do such things. They covered up their human emotions, and pulled their level down to that of demons or beasts. Of course, it would be very hard to climb up. That was why He wept. Sometimes when I meet some ignorant disciples, who make me very sad and hurt, I really weep. I can only shake my head and say, “Oh, too ignorant, too ignorant.” That’s how it is. Then I also pray to God to forgive them, because they don’t know what they are doing. They wouldn’t dare if they knew. Every time I pray, I pray for those people. I do not pray for myself. What else can I get? Even if I become a Buddha, for example, so what? Or if I attain the highest position in the universe, what good is it for me? I cannot ask for anything. Therefore I say, all the good and the bad we do will stick to us. It is written down very clearly. Anyone who knows the secret, whether spiritual practitioner or not, can verify this. Do you know what I mean? So if we go out and mingle with worldly people, inevitably we become contaminated by their vibrations and our blessings pass onto them, even if they don’t want them. It’s like two water pipes, or two buckets, one higher up and the other lower down. Water will definitely run from high to low. So if you want to protect yourself a little, you should switch off the water pipe. Recite the Five Holy Names all the time, that is the only way. Sometimes it might still leak, because you might forget. You forget that Master is there. But if you are willing to do bad things, and you do wrong knowingly, you will also sink. If you make a blunder, I will definitely protect you. But if you do it deliberately and do not pray to Master for help or let me intervene, putting Master aside, then I cannot help you. But if you ask, you will get an immediate response. If it’s carelessness on your part, Master will definitely save you. But if you know it’s wrong and you do it deliberately, and do not let Master help, then of course, I can’t help. Don’t blame me when that happens. You will keep sinking no matter where you fall. So there’s a way. It doesn’t matter if you forget me, just do not refuse my help. Do not refuse, do not think you are great and you can solve any problem. No, no, no! This world is not a fun place. The Buddha is one foot higher… what is it? (As virtue rises one foot, vice rises ten.) As the Buddha rises one foot, the maya rises ten. The meaning is quite similar. The power is universal. Everyone can use it. But the point is how it’s used. We just heard from the brother, the kung fu expert. What did he say? He too used the wisdom eye before. He used it to send out qi with his mind power. Or the Taoist sister who used the wisdom eye to shoot a sword at me, to kill me. Fortunately I didn’t die, otherwise, no one would be speaking here today. It would be a great pity to have such a short life. I am not so bad-looking. It would be a pity to have such a short life without being able to show off the clothes. Well, they used it in a similar way. They also used the power there. Why not use all the power? They only used it to shoot a sword or send out qi. What a pity. It’s the same. So the maya is also very powerful. It’s not something we can play with. It’s not fun. We should not play where we practice spiritually. We are not supposed to mess around. That’s why it’s very difficult to select an Enlightened Master. Selecting a successor is also very hard. Otherwise, anyone could do it. It is truly so. Sometimes I can even use non-initiates, let alone initiates. So sometimes, for example, a fellow initiate came to see me. She was initiated six or seven years ago. She was in a car with 5 or 6 people. As the car drove over the rail tracks, it suddenly stopped. It wouldn’t start and they started crying. They cried, not knowing what to do. Suddenly, somebody said to recite the Five Holy Names and pray to Master. As soon as they prayed, a policeman came and told them to get out and push the car. And that was it. They were not able to figure it out themselves. It was the Master power working through the policeman that reminded them. Sometimes when you run into trouble, you just freeze. You cannot figure out what to do, even though you are very clever. This was a teacher, not just any old woman who sells vegetables in the market. She was a teacher, a high school teacher. Even a teacher failed to figure it out. Why is that? When we encounter a sudden disaster or karma, we go into shock. We cannot think straight. Sometimes, the monks here tell you that every day, I ask them to do things unexpectedly. “She would tell us to do things out of the blue.” Unexpected is good, too. Karma comes abruptly as well, doesn’t it? So we train ourselves to react quickly anytime, so that we can protect ourselves and get used to that kind of vibration. Later, when you become a Master, you can go up to Heaven or down to hell, just like this. If you sit there thinking it’s all too sudden and wondering whether it is time to go to hell or to Heaven, it won’t do. No, no, no. The faster we are, the more omnipresent we will become. Coming and going will be like we have not come or gone. Because it happens too fast. It’s beyond the worldly concept of time and space. At that time, we fold up the space. Here and there becomes the same. I have told you about the ant. If it goes from here to there, it will take a while. And the Buddha folds the paper from where the ant is, so it just jumps over. The space is the same, but the approach is different. The same with learning martial arts. There is a secret to learning everything, not just by working hard. OK. Similarly, the Buddha has His way of doing things. It’s done very fast and without moving. That’s why He is called “Tathagata”, coming and going without moving. He does not move, but He can do anything and go anywhere. He is present everywhere without going anywhere. That is true magical power. That is truly the highest level of spiritual practice. And it is effortless. So sometimes you say that Master’s transformation body comes here and goes there, does this and that, and saves you here and there. I don’t go anywhere, and don’t move anything. I don’t use any gestures. Mudras. It’s more or less the same. Same meaning. You can see that I don’t do anything. The monks are by my side. Do you see me doing any incantation? Or any mudras? No. I am probably sleeping at that time. Or playing a musical instrument, playing chess, reciting poetry, singing, planting grass, scolding people, it can be anything. It is effortless. Like the brother who has mastered the martial arts. He doesn’t have to make any effort, but people fall when they touch him. Just by touching him! He doesn’t touch them. By touching him accidentally, you will also fall, for example. Some people practice kung fu to such a degree. They don’t move. Unlike those who kick about with great effort and look tough, but have nothing. Anyone who is stronger can make them fall. But the one who makes no effort, no one can make him fall. The “soft” one always wins over the “hard” one. That’s the reason. Catching the mother means catching the children too. We’ll know where the whole family is. It’s very simple. Just like in the past when there was a battle, if the great general was defeated, then the army would be divided and in disarray, like a snake without a head. They could be defeated easily. Similarly, when we study any scriptures, they all discuss the universal vibration and the Word. That is the Tao, the original power. So, if we can catch It, we will have caught everything. There’s nothing else to catch. If we catch other things, such as magical power or intelligence, or anything else, we catch only a little corner. We don’t catch the head. A human being or any animal would be finished if the head is caught. That’s why we say that the Quan Yin Method is the best, the most original, the fastest and the highest. This is the only one, truly. It is true, however you study it. So I am also very happy that I have caught this Method, and then you also caught It together with me. We are really very lucky, aren’t we?

Buddhist Stories: Cinca the Brahmin Girl, Part 1 of 5, Sep. 27, 2015

They didn't understand what the Buddha truly was. They didn’t know His power. Their preachings (were) just from outside, telling people, maybe repeating from the Vedas or from some other scripture. But the Buddha is the inner realization, powerful from inside. Can bless people, can save people, can liberate souls, even from hell. Different. Let's go Buddha business, or… My God, just eating all day. Only because today is festival, OK? (Yes.) Don't expect this every day. You don't come here for this, right? (Yes.) Man, I never know. Maybe you specially came for Moon Festival. You wait until the last minute. Come here just on time to eat the (vegan) cakes. The Buddha, when He was alive He had also been blamed for things that were not true. You want to know about that? (Yes.) Because I had some bad names, because I thought I was born in Âu Lạc (Vietnam), just a small Aulacese (Vietnamese) woman. And Âu Lạc (Vietnam) is not, like, famous or anything about anything. All you heard about Âu Lạc (Vietnam) is war and refugees and poverty and all that. Just recently, they rise up already, international standard. Even they are in World Trade, how to say… (Organization. WTO.) World Trade Organization, before even Russia. At that time Russia was not admitted, Âu Lạc (Vietnam) already inside. You don't have any translation? You understood English? You understand? Oh, you have? Good, good. And I had no back support, nothing. I was all alone, I went (at) it all alone. If I was born in India and all that, then they would call me Guru Mataji, Maharaji Mataji, Babu, Baba. Sami, Samiji. (Swami.) Yeah, Swami, Swami Maharaji, whatever. But I was born in Âu Lạc (Vietnam), so I had nothing to be proud of. At that time, even the war was just recently fresh and Âu Lạc (Vietnam) was still embargoed. Now it's better. The country is much, much better. And the government is open, more open so people can come in and out of the country, foreigners and Aulacese (Vietnamese) alike. It's very good. Bravo for that. It's even easier to go out of the country for doing tourism now than during the war. So the Communist regime in Âu Lạc (Vietnam) is not so bad, very open. Younger generation, open. (The) war's over. All right, I’ll read you this story. It’s called “Ciñcā, the Brahmin Girl.” Whoever gives false speech, he transgresses one principle, meaning not telling lies. We have five principles, main principles, like, shall not kill or harm anyone else, and not tell lies, and not steal, and not commit illicit sex, and not take intoxicants. So, telling lies is one of the main principles that we transgress if we tell lies. We should tell the truth only. So, this story was given by the Buddha while He was in residence at Jetavana with reference to Ciñcā Mānavikā. Stretch your legs, stretch your legs. Oh, I forgot. Stretch it, stretch it. Oh, God, ouch, ouch, I'm also getting old like you two. Oh! My knees are telling me that they exist. (Let me give You a massage, Master.) No. Why bother? It’s too much trouble. What if you’re gone tomorrow? I’ll get used to it and no one to give me a massage. I’ll keep looking and find no one. It’s troublesome! This probably is told by Ananda also. Most of the stories were told by Ananda and it says, “Thus I have heard.” But this one, translated, he omitted that. It just says, “This instruction was given by the Teacher.” He doesn't even say the Buddha. What a translation! Of course, Buddha means “Teacher,” “Master,” but different. Wise, compassionate, powerful, not just any teacher. So he should not translate it as “Teacher” here. He should have said just “Buddha” then. “Buddha” or “Master.” Like, for example, Guru Nanak would have been much different from any other Sikh guru at that time. Or Krishna would be a different guru than any other Hindu master at that time, or teacher at that time. There is a big difference. But the inside is different. The outside doesn’t look different; therefore, people cannot tell. Unless you are initiated by that guru, and then you can tell. You can tell because (of) inside experience. OK, this one is about a girl from a Brahmin family. “For the first period after Enlightenment, the disciples of the Master,” means the Buddha, “multiplied and innumerable gods and men entered on the plane of the Noble Ones.” Spiritual practice. “And as the glory of His virtues became widely known, rich gain and high honor were bestowed upon Him. But, as for the sectarians, lost to them were gain and honor alike.” Meaning the Buddha has become more and more famous. But the sectarians, the non-Buddhist practitioners outside, lost. They lost their fame, they lost their gain, they lost the trust from their disciples, maybe the public at large, because they all flocked to the Buddha then. So, “Even as the fireflies lost their brilliance before the coming of the sun, and they gathered together in the street and cried out, ‘Is the monk, Gautama, the only Buddha? We also are Buddhas!’” They proclaimed like that. They felt so frustrated, disappointed because the Buddha became so much famous and many people followed Him. And people also left them. “They said, ‘We are also the Buddhas. Does that alone which is given to him, yield abundant fruit?’” They’re asking questions. “That which is given to us brings also abundant fruit.” Meaning don't just give offerings to the Buddha, give offerings to us, you’ll also have merit just the same. That's what they meant. OK, jealousy. Also ignorance. Different. These other teachers, they just talk, they just preach, but they don't have enough power to liberate people. They don't have the inner realization to manifest true wisdom. That is the difference. But they don't know that. So you can't even blame them. They're ignorant. They did not understand the true inner power of the Buddha. They just think, “He looks like me, He looks like us. He also shaves His head and wears the monk’s robe and goes begging like us. So, what's the difference? Why make offering and praise to the Buddha, and not to us?” This is similar like that. Because they really did not understand. They probably did not mean bad, they just did not understand what Buddha, what an enlightened Saint, really means. “Therefore, you, all people, give alms to us, bestow honor upon us.” Means go praise them and (make) offering to them. “With such words as these did they appeal to the multitude, but for all their appeal they got neither gain nor honor.” They did go out and make propaganda for themselves, but they got nothing out of that. “Accordingly, they met together in secret and considered within themselves, ‘By what means can we cast reproach upon the monk, Gautama, in public, and so put an end to the gain and honor bestowed upon Him?’” They were thinking of some wicked scheme, trying to defame the Buddha, in secret, these people, these mundane sectarian teachers, who had no wisdom, no enlightenment, no power, just wanted fame and name. Maybe like one of you, one of the people you mentioned before. Maybe some of them. Of course, everywhere in every country there are such people. It takes some great affinity and sincerity in order to discern who is who. Because outside looks the same anyway, right? Outside looks the same, all humans look the same. I look like her and she looks like me. I look like her, and she looks like me. The hair only, but she's a Quebecois. Quebecois. Yeah, Quebecois. Qeebec or Quebec? (Quebec.) Quebecois. They speak different French. I had some friends, I met some of them before, in Cayman. They're Quebecois. They said they spoke French, but I understood nothing. They did speak French, it's just a different accent. You don't understand a thing what they are saying. I thought they’re speaking Greek or something. “Now, at that time there lived in Sravasti a certain wandering nun named Ciñcā Mānavikā.” A nun. Mark this. Not a normal girl, a nun. “She possessed such surpassing beauty and loveliness.” Wow! “A very celestial nymph was she. From her body proceeded forth rays of light even.” Wow! She's not a normal nun. She had some good aura, some spiritual gain already. So, listen. “Now, a certain harsh counselor made this proposal to them,” to this group of jealous teachers, sectarian teachers. “They said, ‘OK. If we engage the assistance of this woman, we shall be able to cast reproach upon the monk Gautama.’” “Gautama” means the…? (Buddha.) The Buddha. They did not call Him the Buddha or Master respectfully. They were just jealous. They called Him by His worldly name, Gautama, the Prince Gautama. But you see, I thought because I was a Vietnamese (Aulacese) woman, born in Vietnam (Âu Lạc) and a small woman, don't look anything special, so some people don't like. But the Buddha also, you see, had problems. Jesus also had problems. Buddha was even a prince and He forsook all His kingdoms and richness and 500 wives, or some more, and His winter palace, summer palace, just to become a monk, to seek enlightenment. Still, they thought He just wanted fame and gain. People are not all very reasonable because of ignorance. So now, they wanted to defame Him before all of His disciples, in the public even, disciples and followers. So they were trying to get this woman to do just that. Because this woman, though she was a nun and had light even, and she was beautiful, beautiful and lovely. So all these sectarian teachers agreed to this proposal. “Ciñcā Mānavikā went to the monastery of the sectarians, saluted them and stood waiting. But the sectarians had nothing to say to her. So thereupon she said, ‘What fault do you find in me?’” She was thinking they brought her there to scold her or something. “This question she repeated three times. Then she said, ‘Noble sirs, I appeal to you for an answer. Noble sirs, what fault do you find in me?’” Means, “What's wrong? What wrong do you think about me? Why do you not speak to me?” I wonder why. I think they were too ashamed to say anything. They didn't know what to do. “So at the end they said, ‘Sister…’” They explained to her. “They said, ‘Sister, don’t you know the monk Gautama, who goes about doing us harm?’” They’re also the same sect, same Brahmin. So maybe that's why they said He goes around doing “us” harm, meaning, including her. “‘Depriving us of gain and honor alike?’ So the woman said, ‘No, sir, I do not know Him. But is there anything I can do to help you in this matter?’ So they said…” The teachers, the sectarian teachers said, “‘Sister, if you wish us well, summon all your resources, contrive to cast reproach upon the monk Gautama, and so put an end to the gain and honor that people bestow upon Him.’ So Ciñcā Mānavikā replied, ‘Very well, noble sirs, I will take all the responsibility. Have no anxiety as to the outcome.’” Meaning, “Consider it done.” What a nun, and what monks they are, the whole group of them. “So then she departed.” “From that time on…” Because they called her to come because somebody advised them that this woman, if you engage her, you can defame the Buddha. But they also didn't know what to do. So they just called her there, and then she stood there, and they stood there, and they didn't know what to say.

Sorcery Contest, Part 9 of 12, Aug. 11, 1991

OK, so I can promise you liberation in one lifetime, immediate enlightenment, and liberation of your five generations. That is no problem, because I know what I am doing. After initiation you are liberated from life and death, but you still have to practice. Because if your mind doesn’t allow you to become a Buddha, it will be hard.Thank you. Do I look like that? Do I look like your past emperor? (Yes.) Good, good! Otherwise, you wouldn’t recognize me. Yes, yes. Somebody is about to prostrate, do you see? You recognize me now? Remember our past connection now? Yes, yes! What was I going to say just now? That set of clothes got all wrinkled. They look like they’ve just been washed but not ironed. Embarrassing. I feel embarrassed wearing it. It is not that I want to show off again. This was to be saved for next week. Otherwise, I would have no more tricks to show next week. Just now we were talking about martial arts up there. Our martial arts master told me that he used to practice the kind of kung fu that shows outer strength, for example, chopping a brick into three pieces, just like cutting a banana. But later he stopped doing that, because he has gone beyond that. Now he just stands there and appears to be soft and pliant. But if anyone touches him, that person would be sent flying into the wall. So this is the “soft” way. He doesn’t use the “hard” way. To practice until it becomes effortless is very hard, isn’t it? You have to practice very diligently. He practiced for 13 hours every day. Are you willing to practice for 13 hours every day to become a Buddha? Sometimes we do practice like that when we have a 7-day retreat. So now you know what I meant when I told you to be more diligent during the 7-day retreat. We have to do it once in a while. Otherwise, when can we ever be diligent? Two and a half hours every day is nothing. One hour of dozing off. Then another half hour snoring. And another one hour checking the time, and that is about it. Actually, when we learn the inner kung fu of Quan Yin, we can succeed as long as we have a sincere heart. It doesn’t need that much effort or strength. Because sometimes we are unable to make much effort. We are too busy and tired from work, and we can’t concentrate when we get home. The children, husband, wife, friends, phone calls, and many other things make it difficult for our mind to calm down. So when we decide to seek liberation and learn the Quan Yin Method, we are not alone. Just like the brother who practiced martial arts. He doesn’t need to practice anymore. He has reached the level of effortlessness. No one can touch him. If they do, they would go flying over there. Or if he touches us accidentally, we would fall over. It’s the same with us. His kung fu does not rely on force. So it is different. Our Quan Yin Method is similar. So the best kung fu is like this. The best kung fu is effortless. Like sometimes in the movies, we see an expert swordsman, or one who wields his stick in the most powerful and spectacular way. But a few years later, he doesn’t need to use a sword or a stick anymore. That means he no longer needs to do it at the coarse level. It is the same with our spiritual practice. When we first came, maybe those past Masters would teach us some magic or kung fu. Later we should give it up, if we are sincere about seeking the Truth. If the Master knew that we had a sincere longing for liberation, he would teach us something else. Our Quan Yin Method is the same. We do not use force to practice the Quan Yin Method. We only need the key to this Method. Without a teacher, we wouldn’t know this. We would not achieve anything, even if we practiced for ten thousand years. It is the same with martial arts. It is no use just punching and kicking like what you see others do. It is not the same. If the teacher doesn’t tell you the secrets, you will not succeed. Just like the brother whose softness triumphs over hardness. The one that makes people fall without lifting a finger. Or like his uncle, who is now over 80 years old. It’s too late for us to learn now. He just makes a move and people go flying and get thrown on the wall. It is the same with the Quan Yin Method. The best method is no method. I didn’t say anything when I passed on the Dharma to you, did I? We did it in silence, and it didn’t matter if I was there or not. The disciples went to mainland China to give initiation, and they also saw me there. They went to America to give initiation and saw me there too. I don’t need to be present. Somebody thought that I used something like… hypnotism. No! To hypnotize someone, you have to be there. How can I be here and hypnotize people in mainland China? They don’t even know me. I don’t use the mind power. But for martial arts and magic, you still use the mind. We have to surpass that, “To do without doing.” Like you said, when I was cutting the cake, the knife emitted light, or my hands emitted light. That was not done deliberately. It was not like I’d say, “Now I’ll emit light.” I was just cutting the cake for people to eat. If light was emitted, I could not help it. It was not with effort. Sometimes when I play a musical instrument casually, it sounds nice, and then the disciples also play in a “casual” way. The day before yesterday, we had a campfire party. They said it was Father’s Day, and they regard me as their Father. The monks regard me as their Father, because I’m their Master “Father.” But they also celebrate Mother’s Day. Because I am a woman, they can also celebrate. They celebrate Father’s Day for “Shi Fu.” Anything can be a reason for celebration. They celebrate all the time, and consume a lot of my candies and biscuits. OK, never mind. So Father’s Day is on August 8, which sounds like papa in Mandarin. The Chinese are good at playing with words, so August 8 is Papa’s Day. Wonderful! Well, at the campfire, a resident disciple came up to play casually. Ah! We could not bear it after a while. I said, “OK, you may stop now.” I knew they were impatient, saying, “How come it’s still not finished?” It felt like a long time when he played casually. There is a difference between his casual playing and mine. Just like our fellow initiate who is a kung fu master. If anyone picks on him, he would give a casual pat to ask him to leave. And the person probably would land where the guard stands, at least that far. So can you do it casually like this? There’s a difference between his casual way and yours. For example, I give initiation casually like this. Can you do it casually? It is different. There is a difference. First we have to learn it well before we can do it casually. Once we know how to drive, we can drive as casually as we like. But before we learn it, we may drive into the lake, even with great effort, not to talk about driving casually. We may fall into hell or go to the Western Paradise. Sometimes there’s a difference between kung fu experts. When we see someone break bricks like cutting a banana or bend an iron bar as if it is a noodle or baguette, we think he is great. But some people do not need to do it like this. He doesn’t have to move. But people fall when they touch him. They just fall over after touching him. He has done nothing. This kind of kung fu is better. Or for example, you say that Master has a lot of magical power to cure your illness and rescue you from disaster. Whatever you wish for comes true. But I don’t do it with the mind. It is done casually. You receive whatever you want, because I know it immediately. I know it even before you ask. It is very fast, faster than light. So that kind of magical power is the power of non-doing. Similarly, that kind of kung fu is the kung fu of non-doing. Kung fu without effort. It is of a little higher level. Anything that is at a high level is effortless, very gentle and very ordinary. Or like that fellow initiate who wanted to shoot me with swords of light, that she had practiced her whole life. I didn’t see anything, nor did I resist her. I didn’t use anything. I was just sitting there eating cake, giving a lecture, or cutting the cake, whatever. Understand what I mean? It’s completely effortless. The Quan Yin Method is the highest way for us to practice. If you practice diligently for a while, you will be like me for sure. I guarantee. If you are sincere, and have strong faith, you will achieve the same. You cannot be different from the teacher, or at most only differ a little, yes? What are you laughing at? What are you guys laughing at? (A little different from Master.) A little different. Yes, a small difference is better than a big difference. So where can you learn to be just a little different from the teacher? For example, an English teacher speaks English fluently. Even though our English is not as good, we are still able to speak it. Just not as fluently or perfect as him. But people understand when we speak. When the teacher is not here, we are the best. Frankly, it is not only monks who have the power. I could close my eyes and pick anyone, regardless of gender and age, to give initiation. It would be exactly the same. Same as if I were there. This means, if I pick someone, it doesn’t matter who he is, I don’t care. Anyone can stand up and volunteer. I don’t mean to pick but you all say, “Master selects the best.” It’s not true. It could be anyone among you. Even the lousiest one, who has no inner Heavenly Light and no inner Heavenly Sound. Even if he meditates less than two and a half hours a day, and doesn’t keep the precepts strictly, I don’t care. Just stand up and volunteer. For example, if I let you go and give initiation, at that time, I would transmit the power to you. I just transmit it casually, and you won’t see it. And I don’t need to make any effort, thinking that I’m going to transmit something. No, no. This is done inside. It is very easy. And then you can go out and give initiation to others, in exactly the same way. Exactly the same as if I were present. It means that you are able to carry the Master power, to accommodate the same power as Master. It means you are on the same level as Master, more or less. Otherwise, how can you carry it? For instance, if you are not as strong as me, how can you carry 20 kg? How can a child carry 20 kg? Being able to carry 20 kg means you are as strong as me. So don’t sit there and chant every day, “When will I become a Buddha? When will I?” You already are one. So this is even better than martial arts. Because in martial arts you have to practice very well to be almost the same as the teacher. But this, you don’t need to practice. You don’t rely on yourself, or your own mundane concepts and abilities. No, no! If I pick you out casually like this, you will have the same power, but your personality is still not good. If you haven’t kept the precepts strictly, been vegan for long, and been meditating enough, sometimes you cannot bear yourself. When you go out, people also look down upon you. People cannot believe that this is a Buddha, or Master’s big disciple. They cannot believe it, nor can you bear it. Although we are egoless, you have not yet reached that egoless level. So even if I give you all my wealth, you cannot use it. This is like a pampered son who’s been given all the power and property by his parents, but he doesn’t know how to manage it, and he messes up. His subordinates and workers do not listen to or obey him. And then he squanders the family fortune. You know what I mean? Similarly, any one of the resident disciples here can give initiation, including the very young ones. Why did I ask them to go up on the stage and give a speech? So they can speak to you to test their eloquence. Because the power is not the only thing that makes a perfect Master. That’s the difference between the Buddha and maya. The power is similar, but the wisdom is different. The love is different. The personality is different. Therefore, choosing a Master is not that easy. Anyone here can be Master’s successor. I could pick anyone, even the lousiest one. I could give you the same power, completely the same. But we still have to train ourselves, so that we become suitable for that position. Do you understand what I mean? OK, so I can promise you liberation in one lifetime, immediate enlightenment, and liberation of your five generations. That is no problem, because I know what I am doing. After initiation you are liberated from life and death, but you still have to practice. Because if your mind doesn’t allow you to become a Buddha, it will be hard. It will say, “Someone like you? Are you kidding?” Or other people may also say that to you. If you do not have self-confidence, it is no use becoming a Buddha. What is the use of becoming that kind of Buddha, right? So our manner and demeanor have to match the higher realm.

“Not that I have magical power, but I could see through the walls and the roof, a lot, thousands of holes everywhere. I called it the five-thousand star hotel, and it was pretty cheap. That was in one of the houses, the mud houses that I stayed. Most of the time, I climbed up to the roof to sleep. We didn't have a staircase. You have to kind of climb the wall with your fingers in because the wall

The Blessing of Initiation: Joyful Kitchen Gathering with Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan), Part 3 of 3, Dec. 16, 2018

Animals. (Yes.) Animals. (Yes.) They give you messages, but sometimes you don’t get it. (No.) Sometimes like if… there may be some certain places that you stay at suddenly are infested with insects or something. They just want you to get out of there, (Wow.) then you’d need to go somewhere else better, something like that. So every being helps you in some way; they help some. So, he (Dr. Santokh Singh) did bless you. (Yes. And I was thinking and thinking [of him] and I wanted to thank him and I tried to call a number because I didn’t know he was in Canada. And I tried to call, but no one replied. Then I wrote a beautiful letter to him to thank him, that this is what happened, and that I thank you, thank you, thank you.) It was good for you. (And then I managed to… after eight months, I gave up already. I thought it was my mind playing up, I thought. Then I rang that number again, and I managed to speak to someone and then finally got to speak to him. And just spontaneously, I said, “Can I see you? Can I meet you?” And he said, “I’ll be in Pune,” he said, “I’ll be back in India and I’ll call you.” And I thought, “He is not going to call me!” I didn’t believe. But he did leave a message on my answering machine. And I bought a ticket. I’ve never ever gone alone, solo anywhere.) Yeah. (And I went there. And I stayed one week at his private home.) Yeah. (And he tested me and did…cutting the ego, I guess. And then one day, he just said, “You know, in my lifetime …” He was talking about his lifetime, deliberately to get me to wake up, right? And he said, “You know, I was so fortunate, from young, my father,” he said, “was very spiritual. I met five enlightened beings in my lifetime.”) Oh! (And he met Baba Sawan Singh.) Wow! (And he said…. He must have been in his mid-twenties, and he said when he went to see Baba Sawan Singh, and Baba Sawan Singh spoke to him for one hour and put His arm around him and took him to the door, when he was leaving and He told him, “You don’t need to worry, ever. You don’t need to worry. You are fine.” But of course, I didn’t know any of this. And then, when I was leaving on the last day, he gave me some almonds to eat, obviously blessed. I didn’t know anything. We get parshaad, which we call “parshaad” blessing in the temple. But this thing about blessed food and blessing, I didn’t know. I was born in Malaysia. I didn’t know anything, zero. So, he gave me that and he also said to me, “You will get...” It’s called knowledge, is it? Spiritual knowledge. He said. It’s called in Indian “jnan.” Jnana or jnan. And he said, “You will get that.” And he said, “You will live for 100 years.” And I just said, “No, I don’t want to live for 100 years!” Because we have heard our parents say, they don’t want to live for 100 years. He just kept quiet. And he then also… Another third thing he told me...) He blessed you, like wishing you well. (Yes, yes.) (And then when I came back and I thought, “Now what? What am I going to do? Where? What?” And so, I went to a bookshop in Melbourne, where I come from.) Don’t have to be so clear, so near to her. She will get nervous. (There is a Theosophical Society that Madame Blavatsky and all those books and all spiritual books are in that bookshop. And I went there and I thought, “Look, I’m just going to keep continue reading.” I spent about an hour looking for books, which one I’m going to read, and I picked three books. And all three books, Master, said “living Master.” The words, “living Master” were in there. And one of them was from the Sant Mat, from Baba Sawan Singh, one of the books, Baba Sawan Singh’s books. And the other one, I think it’s written by someone called Mikhail. And I picked that book up; that one is spiritual stories, a really good story about meeting an enlightened being. And another third one,) Sounds interesting. (so all three had “living Master” in it, so it was a message coming through. And then about six months after I had met Dr. Santokh Singh, I met someone in a nut shop who was wearing Master’s…) That shop, are they nuts? (They are crazy. He was buying, it was wholesale nuts. And he was wearing a photo of Yours, Master’s photo, and the owner of the shop asked him, “Who is that woman?” And I was so cheeky, from the back in the queue and I said, “It must be his wife.” And he turned around and said, “No, that’s my Master, [inner Heavenly] Light and Sound Master.”) (And I started asking him,) Light and Sound. (I said, “What is Light and Sound, can you tell me?” And then he could see that I was interested, he said, “Come to our center.” And he went to his car.) He’s a taxi driver? (Yes. He was a CP [contact person] too at the Melbourne Center. So, I must have an affinity and he was from Malaysia too, you know, so it’s funny how affinities... Anyway, he went and got me “The Key to Enlightenment book.” I went home and I straight away read it, you know, like from front to back. And I called him, “I want to meet this Master!” “Where is She? Where can I meet Her?” And he just went quiet. He said, “You just come to our center.” I think You were in a retreat at that time, but he thought I wouldn’t understand any of that. “Just come to the center.”) (And I am so full of gratitude to that man as well…) Taxi driver, yes. (To him as well and everyone. But to that elevated being that I went and saw, I am so thankful, so thankful.) Dr. Santokh Singh. (Yes, Dr. Santokh Singh. And because I felt gratitude when I was reading the scriptures, I felt so much gratitude. It was unbelievable. And so much, “Thank You, thank You!” You know, I could fill the sky and it wouldn’t be enough; that sort of thing. So, thank You, Master. Thank You so much.) Why didn’t you ask him for more teachings? (Because I think I didn’t know anything.) Yeah. (And so, I think he also knew he could only help me to a certain [point] and then) And then you have to go further by yourself. (Yes. Yes. I think he blessed me to meet You Master! 100%) Wonderful. Wonderful Master! (100%, 200%, 500%!) (84,000. 84,000%.) (Yes, 84,000.) Well, 500 is OK, because this is one of the numbers in India, very famous. 500, 2,000, (Yes.) 8,400. OK. Yeah, for your story, good storytelling. (Yes.) Yeah, very, very interesting. That’s the light. Thank you. (Because it’s so special.) I give you this, but it’s not ripe. (Oh. Thank You so much, Master. Thank You.) Thanks for your story. (Oh. Thank You.) Every being… (Gratitude to You.) every being helps you one step further. (Yes, every single person.) Even animals. Even mosquitos and all that, they do give you messages. (“Ouch!”) Their messages are very strong. The messages from mosquitos are very strong. (And after I got initiated, Master, I can’t keep my mouth shut. Anybody I meet, I’m talking about Master, Master, this and that. And you know, some people, they just think that I’m crazy.) Yeah, yeah. I know that. The beginner is always like that; especially beginner. You can’t stop it. You just can’t keep it. (It’s just too much. You’re so happy, so happy. So, I see that in you too.) You want the whole world to know it. (I’m so happy, Master.) But the whole world just say, “What? Hang on, man, hang on!” (I’m so happy, Master. Like, I’m having a party inside right now. But I’m just like, relaxing, you know, trying to chill so You can eat, Master. Eat in peace.) You be normal. (Just relax.) (We look at him and we can see, we can see he is just oozing with all this energy.) He’s sizzling there and knows it. (Yes, yes, yes. So happy.) The happiness and the bliss. Stay calm, man, It’s not a rapping time. Be calm. It is like that for everybody. We’re happy because our soul’s free. At the time after initiation, your soul is free. So, all your body understands that message. All your cells and everything just got that and say, “Oh! Hoorah I’m free now! Yeah, yeah, I’m free now!” Yeah? (Yes.) So you just cannot control it. You feel just so, so full, so overflowing inside. (Yes.) You don’t know what is what. It’s good like that. It’s good. That means your soul got it. OK, guys, I have…work to do. (We’ve taken up so much of Your time, Your precious time.) I’m happy, I’m happy. (Master, thank You for retreat.) No, I’m happy to spend time with good people, and with enlightened souls. I’m also happy. I feel sorry for myself that I have to leave, not sorry that I have to stay here. And just like I love my dogs so much, I keep apologizing to them every day, every night, or every time I cannot hug them, I say, “Sorry. I don’t have a lot of time for you, but I love you forever, and you’re always in my heart, you know,” and things like that. And at night they sleep, they just want to hang around more, but I have to carry them; some, some are too big. Carry into their bed and they look at me like, “Why?” The eyes, “Why? I want to be there with You.” I say, “Sorry, really, I am really sorry.” And in fact, I’m sorry for myself that I don’t have time to spend more with such loving energy, loving beings. Of course, loving energy is fine, but with them also. You just feel love from them, and you feel so comfortable with them. And the way they love you, they make you feel like you don’t want anything else. Of course, you don’t like it when you leave that kind of feeling. You have to go and bury yourself in some other things, which doesn’t give you that much good energy. So, I actually tell them, “I’m sorry,” but I’m more sorry for myself. That’s why I told them that, I say, “I would really like to spend more time with you, you know, or we sleep together, or eat together, play together. That would be very, very, very comfortable for me. But I can’t, so I just have to go.” I say, “I have to work for all the beings.” You know, all the humans, all the animals, who need help, OK. That’s why I have to go to work, but I’m so sorry for myself also, that I don’t have the fortune to be more with you and your cuddling, enjoying your love, and your adoration, your pure heart, and stuff like that. (Thank You so much.) So, if I leave, I’m sorry, OK? (No.) also for me. (Thank You, Master. You’ve given us a lot.) All right, we’ll see each other some other time. (Thank You, Master. Thank You so much, Master.) (Thank You.) Very sorry indeed. Yeah, I don’t like this world because of that, because every party has to end and I don’t like it. In Heaven, we don’t have to end, (Yes.) and we can be together all the time. (Yes.) OK, all of you. (Thank You, Master.) See you, see you around. See you around, buddy buddy. (Thank You, Master.) Come here. Old and new, young and old. Hey, you sing so good. You could be a band, Igy Band, like Supreme Master TV Igy Band. They changed the song “Guantanamera” to “I love You, Master!” Bye-bye, guys! Thank you. (Thank You, Master. I love You, Master.) Take care of each other, OK? (OK.) I need to go to work. (OK. Thank You, Master.) Has everyone eaten the blessed food? (Yes, yes. Thank You, Master. Thank You, Master. Bye-bye. Thank You.) From that small bag, everyone takes a bite. OK? (OK. Thank You, Master. Thank You, Master. Goodbye. Goodbye.)

Sorcery Contest, Part 8 of 12, Aug. 11, 1991

I will walk around outside. (OK.) Look at my magic! Look at my magic: Om mani padme hum! Isn’t it great? Q(m2): I can show You another move. Not even four or five monks together would be able to make me move. Master: OK, come up and push him. Recite the Five Holy Names. Tong, all come up. Push one by one, or two at a time. (Do you need someone to catch you from behind?) Behind. (He won’t budge.) No need. No need to block, just make sure the camera’s not blocked. Don’t embarrass us. One, two, three! Ah, can’t budge him! Impressive! Q(m2): More people can come. (More people.) Master: Tong, don’t be so polite. All right, never mind. Otherwise, they might think we’re bullying them with so many people. That would be embarrassing. One, two, three, go! Oh! We are finished. Tong… (You can’t protect Master.) You can no longer protect me. Forget it. Q(m2): I would really like to teach them this skill. Master: Ah? (I would like to teach them this skill.) Yes, come and teach them. (I have been saying this to my inner Master for a long time.) I would love it. You didn’t come when I asked. All right, come and stay for a while. (I can teach them.) OK, you can teach them. It’d be fun! Teach me a little kung fu, OK? For self-defense. OK, come if you want. I wanted to find someone to teach them, but no one came. (But their kung fu would be different from mine. Absolutely different.) Never mind. You can teach them different things, right? We need to defend ourselves. OK, so it’s settled. Because you have practiced for thirty years, since childhood. (Yes, yes. I’ve practiced martial arts since I was a boy.) You have practiced since you were inside your mother’s womb. But Tong did practice qigong. Even knives and swords cannot hurt him. He’s not bad. But he’s not that powerful, because he didn’t practice every day. Your kung fu is more steady, with qi inside. (It is because when we relax, we can stick to the ground like dough. I don’t use any physical strength.) Oh, I see. (They had to use physical strength.) Oh, they had to try hard. (Because this type of kung fu is completely effortless.) Understand. (It’s suitable for smaller people to practice. Short people can do this better than the tall and big ones.) I see. (So they won’t be able to touch you.) Strange. (This type of kung fu is…) Q(f3): The smaller the person, the better. Master: The smaller the better? Then I have hope! I am the smallest one here. (Because this type of kung fu doesn’t rely on physical strength. The less effort, the better. The smaller you are, the smaller is your body surface area. So people won’t be able to touch you.) How strange! (This is the real tai chi. Not the kind they do for show outside.) Understand. (This is different.) Only real masters know this. (This is the real kung fu.) It’s great to be able to achieve this. Just like cockfighting. The champion rooster doesn’t have to move. Just seeing him scares other roosters to death. Initially he is easily agitated. But when he is trained to be the best, other roosters tremble and flee without him having to do anything. That is the best gamecock, isn’t it? It is the same with our martial arts practice and spiritual practice. With the Quan Yin Method, we don’t have to do anything. We stay still even if it’s stormy or chaotic outside. In the end it will all disperse, right? Everyone is just retreating, right? (Retreating to the mountains.) Retreated to the mountains. And the ones who shot swords at me have also surrendered. It is good this way. I have also learned something from you. Thanks a lot. (Thank You.) It is good to practice martial arts like this. Are the tea and (vegan) food ready now? (They’re ready.) What about (vegan) cookies? Are they on those tables? (Yes.) Go out and check. (Done.) How much is there? Is there a lot? (Yes. A lot.) I’ll go and have a look myself. OK? You wait here for a while. Sometimes they try to fool me. They put only three (vegan) cookies on the table, and say that they’re prepared. I’ll come back after checking. OK? If it’s not so good, then let them do it. Wow, wow! This is not good. The kung fu is not good. OK. Come back in a while. Amazing. Where did you learn to be so good? Look, without using any tool. OK. Not bad. There’re quite a few places, like the publications area and the park. And where else? Huh? (The warehouse.) The warehouse? Only three places, yes? Where did you place them? (There are also some beside the kitchen.) But that’s the warehouse beside the kitchen. (There are some in the warehouse.) Yes or no? (Yes.) Eh! Don’t start, you people out there. We haven’t started yet. You’re secretly eating (vegan) cookies and did not come in to listen to my talk. All right then, tea and (vegan) cookies are ready. Hmm, how many places? If it’s only three places, then it’s not enough. How many for each person? You didn’t say how many for each. (There are many tables of [vegan] food in the publications area.) Many? And you don’t know how many for each person? (There are a lot of [vegan] cookies.) How many is “a lot”? Can one person get three, four, five, or six? (Yes.) OK. Three, four, five, or six per person. Take three first, and more later if there’s enough. If people in the front of the line take too many, then there’ll be none left for those at the back. That makes us greedy. We should share things here. Sometimes we’re unable to buy enough (vegan) cookies and candies in time. The shops may not have that much in stock. Even if we buy everything they have, it’s still not enough for us here. It’s not that one shop sells only one thing. They have a variety of things to sell, so, whatever we buy, it’s always not enough. Because there are too many people here. There’s no ashram that has so many people coming each week. So it’s never enough even if we empty the shops each time. I’m planning on running a big market here, which means you run, sell, and eat, all by yourselves. Or else we cannot meet this massive need. Good. Enjoy your day. Eat and drink as you like, then walk around. Chat with one another. Don’t worry about being orderly. Understand? (Understand.) We’ll talk later. OK? (OK.) I thank those who came up to talk about supernatural power, and the two martial arts teachers. You’re great in martial arts. Write down his name. He said he’ll teach you. No? OK. Starting when? When will you start to teach? (It’s up to Master.) Tomorrow? Is it OK? They’re studying arts and literature here, but also have to learn some martial arts, so as to be well-versed in both. We have to preserve our Chinese tradition, don’t we? Otherwise, if you die with no disciples and that would be a pity. Practicing martial arts is also good for the body. Come and show some moves to me first. Tai chi is not bad. It is very beautiful and good for the health. And it doesn’t look violent. At least this way you can protect yourselves. But the best way is to pray to the Master inside. It’s the fastest. Because the inner Master knows all the martial arts. Hiers power is omnipotent. OK, enjoy your tea. (Thank You, Master.) Wow, is it hot sitting up there? (No.) Do you know what kind of clothes these are? Aulacese (Vietnamese). It’s been altered a little. Something was added to make it brighter. The ones that you saw during the 7-day retreat were too fitting and looked too good. This looks more dignified, yes? (Yes.) Good! I will walk around outside. (OK.) Look at my magic! Look at my magic: Om mani padme hum! Isn’t it great? Look, strong magical power. (Master is beautiful.) (Thank You, Master.) What is important is the atmosphere, not (vegan) cookies or candies. Yes? (Yes, it is.) (Thank You, Master.) Hey, it’s you. Where’s your mom? (Where’s your mother?) Is she here? (Yes, she’s here.) (My mother went to enjoy her tea.) Enjoy her tea. OK, wow. So many people here. (Showing magical power again.) Wow, what a huge crowd. Is this the area they like the best? Can we go in now? (Yes.) Oh! It’s you again. Such a family. I can never escape your family every week. Gaining more and more weight. (Hallo, Master.) That’s for fun and not for satisfying your hunger. … Buy those… This is for those who are hungry. That one is fine. Why did you buy such a salty one? Strange. “Virtuous” (pronounced like “salty”) people buy “salty” things. (The [vegan] jelly tastes very good.) Do you know that they’re all “virtuous” (pronounced like “salty”) people? “Virtuous.” Very virtuous. Yes. Whatever a virtuous person buys is always salty. Wow, the crowd here is the biggest. (How are You, Master?) Fine. (Thank You, Master.) (Thank You, Master.) (Hallo, Master.) (Thank You, Master.) See, nobody wanted the (vegan) jelly. (I want it.) Huh? Do you want it? OK. (How are You, Master?) How are you? (Hallo, Master.) Where are you from? (From Kaohsiung.) From Kaohsiung? That’s far. (Yes.) Ah-ya-ya. (What a beautiful Master.) Yes. Did you realize just now? Do you think I left home because my ex-husband didn’t want me? Hallo, everyone. Here I am. Tea is good. It detoxifies your body. You can go home with a very healthy body. And you’ll say that Master’s blessing power is great. But it’s the tea, actually. Come to see Master and you’ll definitely have good health. You have to sweat a lot, anyway, having to jostle even for (vegan) food. (Hallo, Master.) Is the (vegan) food enough or not? Are there enough (vegan) cookies? (Yes.) There are a lot over there. There are a lot in the publications area. (There are a lot up there.) The (vegan) cookies they’ve prepared are not that good, are they? (They’re very delicious.) Are they good? (Very nice.) I think they’re nothing special. (They’re delicious. Thank You, Master.) (Thank You, Master.) (Thank You, Master.) It’s kind of salty. “Virtuous” as they are … (Thank You, Master.) You’re welcome. It’s good as long as you enjoy it. (Thank You, Master.) I’ll come back later. (OK.) (Hallo, Master.) Wow, there are also many people here. (Hallo, Master.) Is there enough tea? (Yes.) Tell the kitchen if there’s not enough. Is there anybody who hasn’t had tea? Raise your hand. Why? Is there no more? There’s more in the dining area. Go and get it quickly. OK? There are a lot of (vegan) cookies and tea. Hurry. Why didn’t the kitchen prepare enough tea? Anybody who hasn’t had tea? (There’s not enough tea.) Over there. Go get it quickly. Don’t just look at Master. Go. (Hallo, Master.) It’s so hot. I’m going back to get some rest and some tea. OK? (OK.) (Bye, Master.) (See You again, Master.)

The Blessing of Initiation: Joyful Kitchen Gathering with Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan), Part 2 of 3, Dec. 16, 2018

Very difficult in this world to understand. Very difficult. (Yes. So, thank You ever so much.) This world has so many distractions. Yes. And it’s clouded the mind, so people really cannot understand anything. Even the Bible, many things are so clear, but people still don’t see it. Even some of the elevated Bible scholars, they also just read, and sometimes, interpret it wrongly even.(It is like a prayer. OK, I’ll sing. This is a hymn from the Sikh scriptures.) OK. (“Oh Lord Almighty’s humble devotee, Oh Lord Almighty’s humble devotee, Enlightened Master, True Primal Being I offer my humble prayer to You, Oh Great Guru. I offer my humble prayer to You, Oh, Great Guru!” I can’t sing.) Why not? Can! (You can’t sing? Your voice is there.) (“I am just a lowly being…” I can’t believe I’m singing to You, Master.) Why not? Am I so scary? (No, no, no!)(“I am just a lowly being seeking Your refuge, Oh True Guru, Please have mercy on me and enlighten me with the Naam. I am just a lowly being seeking Your refuge, Oh True Guru, Please have mercy on me and enlighten me with the Naam. Oh Divine Guru… Oh Divine Guru, please grant me the Name of the Lord Almighty. Please grant me the Name of the Lord Almighty, Please grant me the Name of the Lord Almighty. Oh Lord Almighty’s humble devotee, Enlightened Master, True Primal Being I offer my humble prayer to You, Oh Great Guru. I am just a lowly being seeking Your refuge, Oh True Guru, Please have mercy on me and enlighten me with the Naam. I am just a lowly being seeking Your refuge, Oh True Guru, Please have mercy on me and enlighten me with the Naam.” Now this is from the Sikh scriptures, and I would never, ever have understood this until I got initiated by our great Master. And what it says is that we are just like little, little small creatures, and Oh Lord, Oh Great Master, please give me the initiation, the Naam, [The Name.] which is the [Lord’s] Name [The Naam.] and enlighten me. So, I would never ever have understood, and I hope anyone who is listening out there who knows the scriptures or who doesn’t or who have read it, please, please, please hear this, that I didn’t know either and the best thing that you could ever do in your life is to get the Naam from a great living Master like my greatest, greatest Master of all time. Thank You, Master. Thank You so much.) You really sing with your heart. (Thank You so much.) Everybody, there’s so much crying there. You sing with your heart, people are touched. (I love You so much. Thank You, Master.) Love you too, kid. You are not a small, little creature; you are big. You’re big in my eyes, you’re big in my heart. Lucky I have a big heart. (Yes, thank You, thank You for Your big heart.) Otherwise, I can’t contain such a great being like you. (No, no, no, no.) You are Indian; you are very devoted. Indian people are like that. (For me, I’m so touched, I am so grateful that I can now understand.) Yeah, understand the scripture or whatever, yes. (I used to sing. I used to sing, before. I love singing, but I never understood it the way [I do] now. I don’t understand a lot, but I feel I can get the gist of what it is saying,) Yes, understand. (and I think “Oh my God, why can’t others?” I want others to know, too.) Yeah. Very simple, (Yes.) but they don’t understand it. It’s like that. No one understands until they really understand (Yes.) the essence of it, the true meaning of it. We just sing or we read the book. (And what is fascinating is… it’s kept almost like a mystery. So people are reading the scriptures; it’s good for them, but the actual meaning is still there and that will only be opened [revealed] by a living Master.) Yes. (And otherwise, they will not know. So, that’s the thing, you know, like, Wow! It’s [the teachings] left behind and they are praying to the book [scriptures] which is good because it is respecting the great Masters.) And reminding them to… (But, it is the message that is in there, that they don’t get.) I know. (And that’s the sad part.) I know, I know. And it’s very…of course, it’s very touching, when you realize what it is. For her, it is something big. (But outside people, they don’t understand it.) No. (Even not knowing the words… Just everything, just got to the soul!) Yeah. (I don’t know a word of Sikh language or Hindu, but everything was like soaked in the soul.) Yeah, she was crying so much. She was crying when you were singing. (I was just crying all the time because it was so beautiful. It was so beautiful.) Because He’s enlightened, and He understands. He says whatever He knows and He says it from His heart, from His soul. (Yes.) He’s an enlightened soul. (It’s like we are little… so tiny. And this is our prayer, please give us the Name. So, He’s basically giving us that message, you know. It’s saying, “Hey guys, you read this, and then find a Master,” but then, we don’t know that.) Very difficult in this world to understand. Very difficult. (Yes. So, thank You ever so much.) This world has so many distractions. Yes. And it’s clouded the mind, so people really cannot understand anything. Even the Bible, many things are so clear, but people still don’t see it. Even some of the elevated Bible scholars, they also just read, and sometimes, interpret it wrongly even. (It’s the gratitude, thank You so much.) (Thank You, Master for coming to save us and to wake us up.) Oh! But you have other Masters. (Thank You.) If you don’t have me, you can find other Masters. (No! No! No! No! You are the greatest of all!) (Thank You for coming. Thank You. Thank You for Your sacrifice.) (You know there is a song, it’s called “The Greatest Love of All”?) (Oh, yeah.) (You are the greatest love of all! Thank You, Master. Thank You so much.) Thank you for your enlightenment. Thank you, that you are enlightened. (Thank you. Yes, thanks to You!) I am so happy for you. (Thank You.) OK. Do we have any more entertaining programs? (Anybody else who wants to sing?) Anybody else wants to sing a song? (Yes.) Yeah, we have Russian and Spanish and Portuguese and Bulgarian. What’s going on here! (Poland.) (Poland?) How come nobody sings in your language? (OK, it’s a simple song. Ah, OK. “God is here, As strong as the air I breathe, As certain as the morning sun that rises. As loud as I can sing, so that You will hear my song. God is here, As strong as the air I breathe, As certain as the morning sun that rises. As loud as I can sing, so that You will hear my song.”)Bravo! Encore! Encore! (Encore! Encore!) (Again.) (Tell us what’s the meaning of the song.) (The meaning of the song, Master, is that God is here with us) (Oh, wow!) (and we are happy because of that.) You know everything! (I speak Spanish.) (She speaks Spanish.) Oh, really! Oh! (And I know what they sang.) So good! (They sang that God is here with us.) All right. All these people, are you singing something? Why are you standing up? (No, I just moved away to let them sing.) Ah, I see, for the camera. (Yes. Master, I think that they sang that song to You in Cancun. In Cancun, when You were coming in, You were talking about the different merit points.) Yeah? (Yeah, I think, and I remember I loved that song so much. I remember... They were bringing You in, You were walking. You had the colorful clothes, and You were talking about the different merit points and how) Wow. (if you do certain things…) What song was that? (That song. The song they just sang. That. The Dios song.) That one? (Yes, Yes. Yes, in Spanish. Yes, yes.) Was it recorded? (Yes, it’s recorded. Yes, Yes. It was recorded in Cancun. I remember that. It was so nice. I love that.) (Beautiful song.) Beautiful song. (OK, OK. Somebody else.) Somebody else want to sing? The Latin American. The Latin people, they’re very warm, very warm. And they sing the song always with heart. They made it with heart. (I can sing forever to You. Forever.) OK. (This is another one, “All in the Glory of the Great One.”) Thank you. (Waheguru… “Waheguru” means Enlightened Being, Enlightened Master, the Great Master. “Oh Great Wondrous Enlightened Guru, it is all due to Your Blessings, Your Grace, Your Sacrifices; Oh Great Wondrous Enlightened Guru, it is all due to Your Blessings, Your Grace, Your Sacrifices; Oh Great Wondrous Enlightened Guru, it is all due to Your Blessings, Your Grace, Your Sacrifices; Oh Great Wondrous Enlightened Guru, it is all due to Your Blessings, Your Grace, Your Sacrifices; Oh Great Wondrous Enlightened Guru, it is all due to Your Blessings, Your Grace, Your Sacrifices;” Now I don’t know the words.) Never mind. You’re just too nervous. (This is one of my favorites. It is again, it is all Yours. Glory to You. Oh, thank You!) All glory to you. (Glory to You! Glory to You, Beloved Master. If not for You, we would be nowhere!) Oh man. But you are in India, the cradle of spirituality. (No, no, no, no.) I even had to go to India to find my key. So, how come you come all the way to Asia just for what? (Because You are the One.) Yeah, we have affinity? (Yes.) Otherwise in India, India’s abound with gurus. What? (There was someone I met before You) Yes? (and I had to go to India. He came to Melbourne.) Yeah? (His name is... He’s written... I think on Supreme Master TV they’re showing his books sometimes, when they’re showing the programs.) Yeah? (He wrote the book called “The [Guru’s] Word” and it’s on the Sikh [gurus]. And his name is Dr. Santokh Singh. I think he was quite an elevated soul.) Yes. (And he came around and it was like Question-Answer) Yes. (sessions that he held for truth seekers. And I was so hungry, I wanted to know something but I didn’t know what I wanted to know. But I was reading the scriptures with people and we were not getting anywhere. And I was thinking I had to meet someone. And when he came, I met him. And I told him I wanted to really read the scriptures, and understand them, and can you recommend. And so he gave me the books [scriptures]. And he blessed me too.) Yes. (I think I asked him the question, I said, “How do you get rid of the veil of ignorance?” And he was so happy, and he didn’t answer and he gave me a blessing on the book, like he autographed the book. Then, so he blessed me. Obviously, I knew nothing about all this. And when I read the scriptures, non-stop I was crying, like after reading about a hundred pages. And I cried and I cried and I thought, “Am I crazy? What is happening to me?” And so, a few things like that happened. And I was full of gratitude for him.) So he did bless you. (Yes.)

Sorcery Contest, Part 7 of 12, Aug. 11, 1991

The qi inside the human body is physical. The Quan Yin Method is the superior qi and has superior power. The vibration is different. Without the power of Quan Yin, there would be no qi, no physical body, no talent and no magic. It’s not wrong to practice qi, but basically, everything originated from the Sound. Q(m1): You once told us that qi only exists when we have the physical body. If we die… Master: We’ll have no more qi. (What can you do then if all your qi is gone?) Yes. (So practicing qi does not help to liberate the soul.) That’s right. We can collect qi or qi flow in the body to do many things. The physical qi inside the body is already so powerful. Can you imagine what we could do with the spiritual qi? When we practice the Quan Yin Method, our physical qi can also be activated and evoke many of our inner abilities, even skills we have never learned before. But not everyone can do that. Only the ones with highly developed wisdom. Because we have learned many things life after life. Once we reach complete enlightenment, we can bring out everything and use it in this world. Some people have been in this world many times. And because they were smart, they learned a lot of things when they were here in this world. So when they come down again, they know everything. They can do a lot of things naturally. They even know how to activate qi. Q(m2): Yes. I too was suddenly able to use my qi. No one taught me. Master: Yes, yes. Q(m1): This qi is inside our body, just like the power we rediscover through the Quan Yin Method. After some practice, we can develop this power. Same as the Quan Yin Method. Humans are the most powerful beings in the universe. Through the Quan Yin Method we can rediscover this power. They are the same thing, but the level is different. Master: I think they are different. The qi inside the human body is physical. The Quan Yin Method is the superior qi and has superior power. The vibration is different. The physical qi can help the circulation and digestion of the body to keep us warm and active. It helps the body stay healthy. But the Quan Yin Method is different. Without the power of Quan Yin, there would be no qi, no physical body, no talent and no magic. It’s not wrong to practice qi, but basically, everything originated from the Sound. Qi has a different function and purpose. If we focus on this purpose, we forget about the highest source. That’s all. Master: OK, anything else? What else did you practice? Apart from qigong (Tai chi, karate.) Karate and tai chi. What else? Q(m2): That’s all. No more. Master: You practiced those for 30 years? Q(m2): Yes. Master: Wow! Impressive! You practiced every day? Q(m2): I used to practice very diligently, for over 13 hours a day. Master: Wow! Over 13 hours! (13 hours every day.) You see! You only meditate two and a half hours every day, and some of you do less than that. You should feel ashamed! Whatever you do, you should do it wholeheartedly like this. Yes! The martial arts people practice very hard, and eat and sleep very little. Even when they sleep, they still think about their practice. That’s how they become… Kungfu masters. You just practice for two and a half hours but you complain a lot already. No wonder you did not become Buddha. And then you blame the Master. You see! That’s just an ordinary kung fu practitioner. Master: Did you say you were No. 1 in Taiwan (Formosa)? Q(m2): My master was the head of a branch in the field of tai chi. My skill in this aspect is… Master: And you were his No. 1 disciple. (I was his major disciple.) Just for martial arts. 13 hours a day! Do you think he still had time to sleep? Did you have time to earn money? (I had a job.) You worked? And you still had time? (I just used all my spare time to practice martial arts.) Yes, that’s right. (I didn’t do anything else.) Yes. (I didn’t even think about anything else.) Because you were very focused. It’s best to focus. No wonder he became the major disciple! Master: And I tell you, Brother Ke once told me that one of the initiates has now gone back to what he was doing. When he wanted to learn feng shui and fortune telling, he went to the top master in Taiwan (Formosa) He had very few disciples. If you wanted to be his disciple, you had to kneel… Brother Ke, come up! You can tell the story. They won’t believe what I say. You tell them. Today we have all kinds of masters here. Now listen. Q(m3): I have a friend who learned Chinese astrology from the top master in Taiwan (Formosa). Most of the famous astrologers in Taiwan (Formosa) are students of disciples of this master. It was more than ten years ago when he learned from his master. Master: Tell them like you told me last time. (OK.) Don’t miss anything! Q(m3): The master was very strict about accepting disciples. He lived near a cemetery. The students came at 10 every night. In the beginning there were about a dozen of them. They had to kneel outside the gate until 2 in the morning. Then the master would ask them to come and kneel inside the courtyard. And he would start talking from inside the house. The students were not allowed to take any notes. They could only try to remember it. In the beginning there were more than ten students. After ten years, only three stayed. Master: They could not take it anymore! (No.) Their knees hurt too much! (One of them was…) They knelt from 10pm to 2am? (Yes.) And after that? (Then he began his lecture. He would only start to teach after they had knelt until 2 AM.) And they continued to kneel? Q(m3): Yes, they continued to kneel while he lectured. I have a classmate who is outstanding. If you spread out the mahjong tiles, and let him take a look, and stack the tiles after shuffling, he can remember which tile is which without touching them. A deck of cards has 54 or 52 cards. You show him the cards once and turn them over. Then you draw a random card and he knows what card it is. He has that kind of talent. He later continued to learn with his teacher. Because the master didn’t allow them to take any notes, they could only listen and try to memorize it. Master: This guy had good knees! Knelt from 10 PM to 2 AM and then until the lecture ended in the morning. How many hours? (He taught until morning.) Let me see. At least six hours! (Five or six hours.) Every day! Every time! Q(m3): And they had to concentrate while kneeling. Maybe kneeling can help us concentrate better. Master: Really? Good! I’ve learned the secret. We can give it a try.Q(m3): As to how accurate he is in fortune-telling, I can share a story about my daughter. I had not yet met Master at the time, when someone stole my daughter at the market. This classmate of mine was working with me, and was very worried when my daughter went missing. He said, “Alright, let me check.” He predicted that if my daughter did not appear at a specific gate of the market at a specific time, it meant that she would go missing for at least one year. He also said that we might as well file a report with the police. Many good friends of mine helped to look for my daughter. This classmate stood at the gate, the gate of the market. And my daughter appeared at the time he predicted. He was so accurate. Friends in the entertainment circle all know him. Actresses like Ling Po and Chen Li-Li, who once played a prince, came from Singapore and Malaysia to have him tell their fortunes. During New Year holidays and festivals, people from southern Taiwan (Formosa) came on chartered buses to visit him. There are three thick books on the market about Zi Wei Dou Shu, or Purple Star Astrology. These are basic-level books. However, mastering these three books… People who want to learn this art study these three books, which are very thick. They’re written by a Mr. Tsai and Mr. Tsai is… the student of those who had studied the art before. The teacher that he studied with was a spiritual practitioner. When that teacher was about to die, he called my classmate and asked him to notify several others that the teacher was leaving the world. The teacher left his handwritten notes to three or four disciples. Master: OK. Thank you. Go on with your stories. He was only learning fortune-telling and had to kneel for so long. What about learning to go beyond the three worlds? What should he do then? OK, what else do you have to say? If not, (Nothing.) then show us what you’ve got. We are all fellow practitioners. Don’t forget that. Control your vanity a little. It doesn’t matter who wins. OK, give it a try. Ah, come on! Tell us first if you don’t have much power. The sword is merciless. Q(m1): For iron palms, this part of the palm is trained. Master: Yes. (To practice iron arms, it’s from here to here,) Yes. (the whole part.) How did you practice? Which part do you practice now? (I used to practice it.) What would you like to show us? (I’ll let him check how tough my skin is.) Do you still have the power? (I found that after practicing the Quan Yin Method, my power is still there.) It hasn’t disappeared. That is great. It even increases, don’t you know? It would increase more. (That means you can…) You may come over here, it’s OK. There’s more space here. In case you are too strong, let me protect myself a little. Om mani padmi hum. OK, if your qi goes all over the place, it would be troublesome. (I don’t need to use qi…) If I fall, we’ll know that it is these two. OK. Q(m1): You can use your hand to pinch yourself. You can all try to pinch yourself here and see if it hurts. Master: Ouch! It hurts! Q(m1): And does it hurt to pinch yourself over here? Now we will invite this brother to pinch me. Pinch really hard. Harder! Harder. Still harder. Q(m2): He has been practicing. Master: He has? (I can tell when I touch him.) You can tell by just touching? Terrific! Ah! (He does not feel pain when pinched.) Awesome. (The skin is separated from the bones, the flesh, the muscles and the fat. He has positive electricity so we can’t feel it.) Ooh! (When qi is able to get through, it can form a thin film. When you touch it, you can feel that the skin and the flesh are slightly separated. It is also like this if you practice tai chi.) Yes? It will become hard? (Yes, yes! It will also be like this.) Touch and see. I can’t tell. (I can tell by touching. Just one touch. I am very sensitive.) Good! (Very sensitive.) Then we don’t have to try any more. Q(m1): Anybody else wants to try? Come and touch, free of charge. Q(f3): Free of charge. Master: You have to pay him even! What do you mean by “free of charge”? Your karma may transfer to them if they touch you. Q(m2): This is also one of the skills in tai chi. Master: Yes. (Sometimes it looks very soft, very soft on the outside, but the bones inside are very hard. We also practiced this kind of skill.) That’s what I thought. (Yes, this is a kind of kung fu.) Right, sometimes they can use a paper fan to knock someone over. (Yes. We can send someone flying through the air with a light touch. We have that power.) Show us then! Would you like to come up and try him? Or you two can test on each other. (Someone here has also practiced tai chi.) Which one? (The one who just became a monk.) Find him. He’s the one who practiced drunken boxing. (Yes, I’ve seen him practicing it.) That is no big deal. (You can also get some big guys to come up.) Ah! Little sweet potato, come here. (He has trained before.) He is the prince of Shaolin. (He has practiced it.) OK, give it a try. Q(m1): And the bones. I make this part of my bones become like this, and you can use the same part, like this. Try to knock it. Master: Just joking. Q(m2): Then, you knock mine. Q(m1): And here. You don’t have to use too much force. Q(m2): Yes, yes. Q(m1): You can feel it by hitting here. Q(m2): You can hit me hard. Master: Yes. Q(m2): Harder still. Q(m1): You can feel that… Master: This is a joke. I can also do it. Q(m2): Master, this power is called “drive,” not “strength.” The bone marrow has been reconditioned to be like that of a tiger. Bones have three layers. The second layer becomes very dense, so it becomes very heavy. When he just gently… I have practiced the same thing. Master: I see. (When I touch it gently,) I see. (It hurts a lot. If I give a push like this, his head might crack.) Oh, I see. (Yes, yes.) Then I take it back. (Yes. I have practiced the same kung fu.) I dare not let you hit me now. Q(m1): It feels different from someone who has practiced it. Q(m2): We know from one touch. Master: If it were someone else, he would die in pain. Q(m2): No, no. Q(m1): If it were someone else, it would be more intense. Master: So we can’t do that. Q(m2): No, the bone may break. I know just by touching him. Master: Can we bring bricks here for you to try then? Q(m1): I hit him very gently. He would feel the difference. Q(m2): You can try hitting me harder. Master: He wouldn’t do it. Let’s use bricks then. Q(m1): You just need to see how hard the bones are. You don’t have to… Master: Just go fetch some bricks and then we’ll know. Is that OK? Q(m2): No, you have to feel it in order to perceive his power and bear the “drive” in his punch. You can’t use bricks. Master: The power goes inside. (Yes, so we can’t use bricks or stones.) I see. Then don’t do that. (This power is different from the power used to hit a brick.) It’s not just by force, it’s the power of the qi. (It is called the “power without power,” so we call it “superhuman power.”) Understand. (In the “Complete Works of Boxing”, it is called the “superhuman power.”) OK. (He has also read the “Complete Works of Boxing”.) I see, so what can the superhuman power do? (It can help you concentrate on your willpower and create a strong explosive force.) Explode from the inside. (Yes, explode inside.) When you touch this kind of person, you would slowly become ill? (He is so small. It would send him flying through the air.) Q(f3): He’d fly very far away. He’s afraid that he’d fly very far once he makes his move. Q(m2): Someone has to hold him from behind, or it would be dangerous. Q(f3): He would fly through the air. Master: It’s dangerous, so what can we do? Q(m2): My wife is here, she can hold him. Master: He knows kung fu. Maybe it’s OK for him to fly. Would anything happen to you? Q(m4): I don’t know. I have never met a top kung fu master before. Master: Which one is his wife? OK, you can use it on your wife, since you both know kung fu. But we wouldn’t know if they pretend. (You may get other people to try, it’s OK.) Are you really that powerful? OK, OK. (You help me hold it.) Don’t cheat. Take off your glasses. (No one is holding him from behind. Please tell them to stand up.) Move away! Q(f3): Block him. Master: Block him! (Get somebody to hold him, otherwise he might fall and get a concussion.) OK, catch him then. Form a wall. Q(m1): He’s getting into action. Master: Another wall over there too. Q(f4): Do you want to push me? Q(m1): The taller person. Q(m2): It’s OK. It doesn’t matter. Push him then. Master: All right. You can also push her. (I’ll push her first, then…) Yes. And somebody can hold him from behind. It’s all right. How far away should they stand? (Brother Hsu, please come up here.) Please tell us how far away they should stand. Get them in place. Stand up. Form a wall. Hold on well. So he does not fly. Who is this guy? (The dentist.) Dentist, right. (His brother-in-law. Have you also practiced it?) You also trained your bones? (Tai chi.) Tai chi, OK. Q(m2): Very gently… Master: Wow, that’s amazing. (Very gently.) I know, I know. It looks very gentle. Wow, that’s it? Very gently like this. (Yes, just like this.) Wow, impressive! Do you two fight at home? Better not. OK, you give him a push and see. Q(m1): You can tell by watching his feet. If both of his feet leave the ground, that means it’s working. Usually, when people push, only one foot leaves the ground and the person keeps moving back. But when both his feet leave the ground.Q(f3): That means it is working. Master: Understand! Try your best. Wow! You still flew away! Only one foot is off the ground. So it is no big deal. Ah, so soft. That’s it. (One more time.) OK. Use another method. (Stand firm.) Q(m1): You have to loosen your bones first. Master: Wow! It’s also useless. Amazing. OK, OK. Admirable! He’s so gentle, that’s truly amazing. The gentle one always wins over the tough one. (Very gently.) Yes. Yes, toughness is nothing.

Prophecy of the Golden Age Part 152 - Prophecy of the Gnostics

“Then the Sun will darken and the Moon will lose its light. The stars of the Heaven will disregard their course, and great thunder will come out of great Power that is above all the powers of chaos, the place where the firmament of the Woman is situated.” In 1945, shortly before the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, 13 hand-written books were found near the town of Nag Hammadi in Upper Egypt. These texts were written by early Christians in Coptic, which was the ancient language of Egypt in the centuries just after the time of the Worshipped Lord Jesus Christ. The Nag Hammadi library gives precious insights into the doctrines of Christ’s followers, before the current Christian church and Bible came into being. The early Christians are also known as Gnostics, because they emphasized the importance of “gnosis,” meaning the direct personal knowledge of God, for one’s salvation. The Gnostic writings reveal that gnosis involved sacred higher teachings from Lord Jesus, which were transmitted in secret only to the worthy. Such a direct experience of the Divine, as Supreme Master Ching Hai has told us, is essential to gaining true spiritual understanding. “Only the one from Heaven, direct, within yourself, and transmitted by the Master, that is the real teaching, without talking. Because you can read a thousand sutras, can read hundreds of bibles, or any other documents, spiritual documents. It would never get you anywhere, (Yes, Master.) never give you the experience that you want or the experience that is spoken of in the holy scriptures – spoken but nobody can have it, except by the initiation with a real Master.”“We forget that Jesus Christ taught many things. He taught people how to be invisible, how to have transcendental bodies, and how to have the power to save people, to be omnipresent, and to have light from inside and outside. These are the true teachings of Jesus Christ. The Bible is a record of some teachings He passed down. They are just theories, or they just teach people moral conduct. They are teachings on the outside, or external theories. The external teaching, everyone can have. As long as they come to the lecture, they can hear the teaching. But the inner teaching, not everyone can obtain. It’s because the inner teaching doesn’t use language. We can’t get it by fooling people, or by bribing people with our politeness or money. We can’t exchange money or affection for it. Rather, we have to be prepared, pure-hearted and open-minded. That’s why the inner teaching is difficult to teach, and it’s not easy to obtain. That’s why not many people teach it in public, and not many people understand it, either, because it’s very difficult to understand. But I still try to use the external teaching to explain some theories so that people can understand the logic. Only then can I impart the inner teaching. The external teaching is to help us open our hearts so that the inner teaching can be transmitted.”The Nag Hammadi Library contains a text that has come to be called “On the Origin of the World.” It includes a detailed account, probably based on someone’s inner visions, of how the Heavens and the Earth were formed, as well as the angels, demons and humankind. Following is one of the fascinating excerpts: “But actually chaos comes from a shadow that has been called darkness. The shadow comes from something existing from the beginning. So it is obvious that something in the beginning existed before chaos came into being, and that chaos came after what was in the beginning…”Wow! This description reminds us of what Supreme Master Ching Hai revealed before about the Big Bang and the origin of our universe, which is even called “the shadow universe.”“The Big Bang is where energy seeped down from OU (Original Universe), collided” – bumped into – “collided with coarse energy at the Seam of the Universe and exploded into the Shadow Universe.” “That’s Big Bang.”“After the nature of the immortals was completed out of the infinite one, then a likeness called Sophia(Wisdom) flowed out of Pistis (Faith), with the wishthat something should come into being like the Light that first existed. Immediately Her wish appeared as a Heavenly likeness with an incomprehensible greatness. This came between the immortals and those who came into being after them, like what is above.” “You know, some energy, because so powerful, it seeps down past the Seam of the Original Universe and manifests into different worlds, into some beings. And then, some of those, with so much energy and creative force within them, this just naturally, automatically created the lower worlds with their merit. And then, after that, lower beings worshipped the Lord Tim Qo Tu for a great many, many eons of time after knowing the name of the Lord, after knowing where they came from. And then they were able to have such a powerful creative energy that they asked permission to create their own world. And then so on and so forth, and then it passed on to lower realms.”The Nag Hammadi text not only told the history of our universe’s distant past, but also its future, which it referred to as “the consummation of the age,” meaning the end of an era. Let’s take a closer look at what was said. “Before the consummation of the age, the whole place will be shaken by great thunder. Then the rulers will lament, crying out on account of their death. The archons (lower gods) will mourn for their human beings, and the demons will weep for their times and seasons, and their people will mourn and cry out on account of their death.” Here we find clues that the state of the world – with its rulers, subjects, and demons – will come to an end. It was stated that before the consummation of the age, great thunder will come out of the Great Power and shake the whole universe. This will terrify all the evil rulers of physical realms, the archons of chaos, and their devilish demons. The archons are lower gods that govern the human world. They were produced by the Creator god who created the physical realm. However, the time will come when “the archons will mourn for their human beings” that they controlled, plus they will lament their own deaths. Then the time of consummation will begin. We believe that this has come true, with the advent of the Great Savior of our time, Supreme Master Ching Hai. Her presence truly clears away the demons and shakes every corner as if “by great thunder,” as witnessed by one of our Association members. “(Then Master happily and naturally sang the song ‘I Will Forever Love You.’ When singing this song, Master’s voice rocked the whole universe. The whole Earth was trembling. It was deafening to my ears. I was blissfully immersed in that experience. After I went home, I had a retreat for 7 days, enjoying this blissful event. enjoying this blissful event.) I understand. (However, during that 7-day retreat, something more astounding happened. When Master was singing happily, that vibrating power destroyed many of the maya’s palaces. They simply disintegrated. I was overjoyed. After the 7-day retreat… Wow! With one joyful outburst by Master, the power of vibration had shocked the universe tremendously.)” “Then the age will begin, and they will be disturbed. Their kings will be drunk from the flaming sword and will make war against one another, so that the earth will be drunk from the blood that is poured out. And the seas will be troubled by that war. Then the Sun will darken and the Moon will lose its light. The stars of the Heaven will disregard their course…” These lines reveal that in this time of transition, the whole world will be in chaos and be filled with darkness and ignorance. Humans, especially leaders, will be troubled by negative forces to do evil deeds, such as making bloody wars that impact both land and sea across the whole planet. However, at the darkest point of the age, something awe-inspiring will occur. “…and great thunder will come out of great Power that is above all the powers of chaos, the place where the firmament of the Woman is situated.” This might indicate that the Savior will descend from a higher Power that is above all the powers of this shadow universe. We think this again refers to Supreme Master Ching Hai’s Power which She has brought down from the Original Universe. This place, the prophecy also says, is “where the firmament of the Woman is situated.” In this context, the Woman refers to Sophia, who in Gnosticism is the feminine part of the Christ Power. Sophia is from a supercelestial realm, while an even higher form of Herself resides in the Spiritual Universe (Pleroma), which emanated from the Highest God. Similarly, we know that Supreme Master Ching Hai, who originally came from the Highest Source, also passes through different Heavenly Universes and Levels. And before, She would sometimes “rest” in certain Heavens, such as the Fifth Level, in between entering our material world.“When God comes down to any planet, it’s not necessary that God can come back to Hiers abode right away. Just hang around or come back again, or go to another planet, come this. You know, it depends. But rarely, God comes down.” “(Master, do the Beings in Tư Quơ (tiher quer) or the Original Universe ever leave there to go to the Shadow Universe?) Yeah, if They have to, but rarely. (I see, Master.) Rarely. No need. They can go down, yes. One of Them went down, you know already, at least. (Yes, thank You, Master. Master, we are so happy You came down for us.)”“(Master, You mentioned that earlier, only one Being has been to the Original Universe. So compared to the Fifth Level Masters, does it mean this unique Being has brought down much greater, much all-encompassing power to benefit the whole universe?) Well, you can say that. You can say that. Yes. (And that’s the reason why we witness so many positive changes and peaceful progress happening in our world so quickly that have never happened in our history?) Yeah. It’s like that. Actually, some of the Masters also predicted like that. Like Master Beinsa Douno? (Yes, Master.) He said that there will be a tremendous power coming to our world. Already coming. And some other predictions also mentioned similar. Or more or less, I think. I don’t remember a lot of these predictions. But you can refer to them.”

The Blessing of Initiation: Joyful Kitchen Gathering with Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan), Part 1 of 3, Dec. 16, 2018

(Glory be Yours, Glorious Master Ching Hai!) Oh, I understand that. (Glory be Yours, Glorious Master Ching Hai! Glory be Yours, Wondrous Enlightened Master!) Go for the big one. Take. (Thank You.) Take. Take, take, take, quick, quick. Vegan fish. Coming. Don’t worry. (Thank You so much, Master.) Young boy, take. (Beautiful original song from Croatia.) Don’t be shy. (If there is no love The world will not exist Neither you nor me Neither you nor me My beautiful fairy There are three boats I stay on one You stay on other On the third the biggest We will kiss) (Thank You, Master.) ”Hvala” (thank you.) (Thank You.) “Mucho Hvala.” Thank you very much. (Thank You.) “Hvala” very much. (Yeah, it’s “Hvala.” “Hvala” is thank you. H…”Hvala”.) “Hvala.” (“Hvala.” is thank you in Croatian and Bosnian, too.) Teach them. (Same.) (In this song, it was thank you for what?) (Oh, because the love, the words of the song are: “If there is no love in the world, the world will not exist.” We need love in this world. That’s about love, the song. It’s a beautiful song.) Tell them from what country? (The country is Croatia. Yes.) From Croatia. (Croatia. That’s Croatian, that song.) I’ve been in your country. (I’m originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but my parents had a house, a vacation house at the sea in Croatia, and it’s like the same language. But it’s a Croatian) Yeah, wonderful. (song.) (And I love it, always that song because it’s a song about the love and like Master’s love.) Oh, so that’s Croatian language, not Bosnian? (Yes.) Same language. (Yes, it’s the same language, Master.) Originally where from? (The song is from Croatia.) OK, Croatia. Oh, they are very friendly people. (Yeah, friendly people, yes.) Very, very simple and friendly, (Yes, very simple.) not complicated. (Not complicated. Very simple. Thank You so much, Master, for giving me permission to sing.) No. Anybody else? (I really wanted to sing. I’m so happy. I’m so happy.) Yeah, I deserve all this. (Oh my God! Yay!) And then there’s a rapper around. (…rapper.) Never mind, you are rapping your interest in that guy. (Oh, my God.) (You can stand up.) (Yes, stand up.) (Oh, I have to stand up? OK, OK.) After eating, you can’t sit and sing. (I got you, right. I know, I’m full.)(Thank You, Master, so much. I wanted to sing “The Ocean of Love.”) Oh. (Ocean of Love. I love that. It’s my favorite song) Oh. (by You. You know because You’re a super star so I just want to sing one of Your songs. I love You.) Oh, anyway, no rapping today? (I also sing. I’ll show You the softer side because You cooked us a meal so I wouldn’t…) I didn’t cook, I just ask them. They are my hand. (Yes.) (Thank you, guys.) OK! Clap. (OK. Again?) (Bravo!) That’s for my song, not for you. We don’t know how you’re going to sing yet... We’ll applaud later. (OK.) When we check your “Q” first, quality. (OK.) (I am the Ocean of Love Come to Me I am the River of Life Bathe in Me I am more to you than the sunshine I am above space and time! Rest in My bosom Then you’ll know freedom Rest in My loving arms Then you’ll be far from harm.) (Yes!) (Thank you so much.) (Very, very good! My God! Very soulful. Very soulful.) Is that jazz, right? (Yes.) (Yes. I loved jazz.) (Soulful. Next time, we can collaborate.) What? (Next time, let’s… I want to collaborate because I want to sing together.) Very good, very good. Thank you, thank you. (Thank You.) Thank you for glorifying my few simple lyrics. (That touched the soul. That song touched the soul.) (Yes.) (It’s so beautiful. Thank You so much, Master, for doing it and thank you so much, brother, for singing it to us.) (Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank You, Master. Thank you. Thank you.) (There’s no way I can sing like both of you.) No need to compete then. (No, this is just something that I sing around the house.) OK, do that. (So, I’m just going to sing that.) We are in your house now. (This is for You, Master,) Ah, not for everybody. (for all that You’ve done for us and) Thank you. (there’s no words to describe it.) Thank you, thank you. Thank you. (Glory be Yours, Glorious Master Ching Hai!) Oh, I understand that. (Glory be Yours, Glorious Master Ching Hai! Glory be Yours, Wondrous Enlightened Master! Glory be Yours, Glorious Master Ching Hai! Glory be Yours, Glorious Master Ching Hai! Glory be Yours, Glorious Master Ching Hai! Glory be Yours, Glorious Master Ching Hai! Glory be Yours, Glorious Master Ching Hai!) (It means: “Glory be to You.) Oh, yay! (Glory be Yours.” Glory be Yours. There’s another one, which is…) You sing really good. (Thank You. It’s just something they used to sing to Guru Nanak.) Oh. (This I just heard it many years ago.) Oh you cannot… (And so for me I just… No, no, no, it is not a hymn as such, it is just people in awe of their Master, they sing, they make up songs and sing.) But don’t steal from Guru Nanak. (And so, when I was young, I heard it. No, no.) I don’t dare. (No, no, no.) (And there’s another song, it is an old English song.) Yeah. (It’s “Are you going to Scarborough Fair?” Have You heard of that song?) I wasn’t born at that time. (Have you heard that one? But I haven’t got the words matching. I was just kind of humming around the house.) In the bathroom? (So, I don’t know… Yes, bathroom song.) Eh? (Thank You, Master.) (Tim Qo Tu,) Cannot fit. (Py-O-Tu, Tim Qo Tu Tim Qo Tu, Py-O-Tu Tim Qo Tu, Py-O-Tu Tim Qo Tu, I love You, Tim Qo Tu) (Thank You so much, Master.) (Tim Qo Tu,) Tim Qo Tu (Py-O-Tu, I love You) I love you. (Tim Qo Tu, I love You) Is it good? (Yes.) (You know this song?) (Real nice.) (I didn’t know it, but I like this song.) (It is such a beautiful song, but I just wanted to sing to Master.) Bravo! (Master can I sing one more song for You?) Yeah, sure. (Yay!!! I love You! OK, OK. Oh, my God. I feel like this is a dream. It’s a dream. This is a dream. I don’t want to wake up. Hey!! OK, OK, OK.) (Starry, starry night Paint your palette blue and gray Look out in the summer's day With eyes that watch the world and can’t forget Like the strangers that you've met The ragged man (Ragged man, ragged clothes) in ragged clothes I love You. The silver thorn and a bloody rose Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow Now I think I know What you tried to say to me How you suffered for your sanity How you tried to set them free They would not listen, they did not know how I know, we’ll listen now)(Love You, Master. Love You! Thank You, Master.) I called the audience to come, you see that? (Yes, they came.) Originally, there was at the other stage. One more song? (You were the Word at the beginning One with God the Lord Most High Love You, Master! Our sin was great in the beginning Now revealed in You our Christ What a beautiful Name it is The Name of Jesus Christ my King What a beautiful Name it is Nothing compares to this What a beautiful Name it is The Name of Jesus What a beautiful Name it is The Name of Ching Hai) (Love You! Thank You so much, Master. We love You so much! Thank You.) (Mic, mic. Anybody else, talent show? Oh, my God!) Anyone else who dares to show their talent, in front of the professional like me? (I’m going to let it shine This little light of mine I’m going to let it shine Come on! This little light of mine I’m going to let it shine Let it shine, let it shine let it shine this little light of mine Go ahead, go ahead.) (I’m going to let it shine) (Hey! This little…) (Oh, down the road) (I’m going to let it shine) (Oh, down the road. I’m going to let it shine) (Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine This little light of mine. Hey! This little light of mine I’m going to let it shine This little light of mine I’m going to let it shine Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine)

High Thinking & Simple Living, Part 5 of 5, Jan. 3, 2006

It's because you have faith. Just tune in, OK? Just trust that the Master Power is there always with you. If you block yourself from that blessing, then I can't get in; I can't force you to bless you! Sometimes I do, but only in emergency. Otherwise, you have to be willing. It's fun to have your own tomatoes. And it's more independent, and more healthy. A healthy lifestyle. According to research, the people who are farmers, the marriage (of those) who both are farmers, they are the most happy. And the second is the doctors. The third is… I don't know what. Maybe business... (Teachers.) Teachers, yeah. The fifth of the most happy couples. And then, businessmen are the last of the fifth. But still, they are more happy than the others! I don't know why other jobs don't make people so happy. I guess because you are productive. You plant things together, and you watch it grow, and then you have your own food. You just feel happy. (And also if you plant your own vegetables - one sister in Belgium, she and her husband, they have a small planting. And one time she brought a courgette to the center, and it's like this big!) I know, I know. I know. It can be very big, if you know how. Yeah, if you know how. Anyway, you could also ask the brother who knows how to plant those things. You don't even need fertilizer or anything, I heard. According to him, you don't even turn the earth. Just plant it and cover with grass, and it'll grow very big. I saw it! Some people grew zucchini, so big! Big like this, and long. So, it must work. And vegetables grew so big, big leaves and big stem, everything, so big, big! They could hardly eat it themselves, it's too much. Too much, you know? So, they had to give it to the center, a bigger center, to eat. So, I think if you stay, some together, and plant vegetables, it would be OK. Extra income! You know, extra! And fresh vegetables for you. And you go out to work as usual. You still have your money, pay the rent there, instead of paying the rent outside. And on top, you have vegetables, and stay together, meditate, and help each other. It's fine. But it has to be peaceful. If any strong character, then better not go in there. You have the right to choose who can be the residents. Anything else you want to tell me, or ask questions? Has to be spiritual and productive, OK? Don't drag me into your family quarrels and all that stuff. It's so ugly and low, low lev (level). I already taught you everything, how to deal with family, in every circumstance. And if you don't know, then go home, read books again. My books! (Master, I was just wondering. There are five levels, Fifth House. If people don't reach the Fifth Level in this life, I presume we come back again.) No, it depends on where you go. If you are on the Third Level, you don't have to come back, if you don't want to. You can. (OK.) (So, if you are only making it to the First or Second Level in this lifetime... Because remember, I know before, when I was listening to Your tapes or reading something,) That's right. (You were saying about different people moving at different rates, and all that sort of stuff.) Right! (And I was just wondering that. Thank You very much!) But you'd better make it to the Third, because at this time, anyone except the Third Level people are not protected. (Yes.) I mean, the Second Level people are still doomed for disaster. Maybe not dead like the astrals, but they've been in trouble also. This time is like that. This period of this planet is like that. It's a big cleansing. You can see it everywhere around the world. I told you before, and I tell you now. It's the same. Before it happened, I told you already. And now it's happening, it's been happening, I tell you the same stuff. Yeah? (OK.) So, you can see it for yourself. (Thank You.) All right. Most of you are on the Third Level upward anyway, so I don't worry too much. And the guys who have come in, and are still on the Astral or Second Level, that is not my problem anymore. But still, they are more protected than the ones outside who don’t have. They're still given a chance to develop as long as they live. Until the time they die, they're still given the chance, more than the astral who has no Master. Because at least the astrals in my house, they are vegan, they don't kill, they don't steal, they don't intoxicate themselves, they don't do any bad things to other people. So, Heaven gives them a chance to continue developing. But the astrals outside, they are not protected, because they continue to do more bad things. And that's the problem. (Master, since You came last week, and You taught a lot of people here the Gift, I've been meditating this week, and I've felt so tired, but I feel really intelligent, really bright, really full of life and ideas. And all the new brothers and sisters that You taught that to, we had a group meditation this week, and when we were together and talking, they felt so intelligent, so happy, so vibrant. We can understand many things without even thinking.) Understand. (So, I thank You for that, obviously. But my question is, when I wake up in the morning, I've been so tired, incredibly tired! And I think, is this because You've lifted us so high that we have to probably need much more meditation to sustain that level, is it?) Yeah, possible. (But then, I thought it was just me, maybe I'm getting old or something.) Maybe. (But they had the same problem. All of those people with me, they had the same problem.) It's just the physical body gets tired. (Yes.) It's too much power, I guess. They'll get used to it. (Yes, I hope so. I like this.) You'll get used to it. (Thank You.) I have a hair dryer, a hair blower, you know, a hair curler, and it's 100-something watts. And in the hotel, I didn't have the European plug, socket. And I tried hard to plug in, and it didn't work. Somebody showed me the trick to put a spoon inside to push something, and it didn't work still. So I put it in the bathroom, where it says, "Shavers only." And it went, "Bee-juu!" It didn't work! So I had to spend, like, 70 dollars to buy another one. It's not as good! But whatever has to be done. I have to look a little bit better for the photo, no? My photo earns money. A little bit. OK, I'm just kidding, but if you don't... You know, because I know if I'm at home, I don't care about my hair so much. And it goes, "Bzzzt!" So I have to tame it a little bit. Yes, brother! So you see, too much power can kill a thing! Yeah! (Well, this is actually not a question, but I just want to thank You. I was meditating with Your method since '96, and I had so much benefit, and...) '96? (Yes.) It's a long time. OK, and then? (In the beginning, I never thought I would last one month. Every day is like, I'm impressed and I'm surprised! And I never believed it, I just followed, like, the requirements, because I thought it offers so much and it's worth the effort. So You've been with me all the time since then.) It's cool. (Although I'm not like Your best disciple but I mean... I was just...) You are! The way you talk, you are! If it's the way it is with you, then you are the best! One of the best! I like those disciples who make progress, who really tune in, so they can feel the benefit. I don't like those blind, deaf, dumb and covered with raincoat that even the rain couldn't get through! (I had spiritual experiences, like, I never had that before until I was with You. And I had my own method, because I was Muslim, so I had my own protection.) Before, yes. (Yes, when I was initiated. So I had more experiences, and I was in places where I had to, like, use everything I know, and nothing worked. But with You, it's like You are always by my side, so it helps immediately. So, I want to thank You.) You are welcome, love! I love doing it for you! These kinds of disciples make me feel like you are worth it. And the ones who complain, "Ah, family!" and you know, "How can I get a daughter, a wife for my son, or a daughter for my..." I don't know, "daughter, mother,” what? “Wife for my…” what? “Husband for my kids!" And what, blah, blah, blah! You know, all that just really drags me down, and I feel like I don't want to do my job. Because you guys are like deaf, dumb and blind: hear nothing, see nothing, don't understand anything! These people are too low for me to even be dragging around. But because I had openly given this method, before, so some dragged themselves in, by the way, so OK, we let them there. But they'd better keep their mouth quiet; otherwise, if I know (who), I'll kick them out. Dragging everybody. You know what I mean? All right. Thanks for being a good guy. Anyone else? (Master.) Yes? (I just want to thank You for miracles and things that happen every day for me, and for making my life.) While you are cleaning, some miracles happen? The broom's flying or something? (All little things! All the little things happen. You know, you get stuck in the middle of nowhere and a taxi turns up when your car is broken down, and...) Yeah? What kind of.... (Just little things, but every little detail is taken care of.) I understand. Yes! If you tune in, you get everything you want. (Life's so different now! It was so empty before. Thank You so much!) Yes, yes. It's because you have faith. Just tune in, OK? Just trust that the Master Power is there always with you. If you block yourself from that blessing, then I can't get in; I can't force you to bless you! Sometimes I do, but only in emergency. Otherwise, you have to be willing. You know, like a patient has to go to the doctor and let him treat you the way he knows how. The doctor, even, can't force you. Like an emergency, maybe yes, somebody else can sign for you. But mostly, you have to sign for what you want from the doctor. So just tune in, baby. Have faith. Have faith! (Thank You so much.) Very little faith you need, not much. Difficult, I know, but it is so easy! Well, if you are children of your parents, when you were a kid, the only people you can trust in the world are your parents. There is no choice. No choice. And if you don't trust your parents, God help you. If you wonder around, you get trouble. All right. Yes, next. What kind of car you have that broke down in somewhere, that I had to help you? (We bought it two days before.) Two days before? It's an old car, or what? (Yes, it is quite old,) Too old? (but it's really well looked after, but... I don't know, I think...) It's still working? (Sorry?) It’s still working well? (It's about ten years old. Yes, it's great now. We'd only bought it a couple of days before, but I don't know, I think sometimes things like that happen, so other things can happen.) Yeah, I understand. (So people can come along, and you can learn from it. It's not exactly the car that's at fault, it's just that we can learn through the experience.) OK, OK. How much did you pay for it? (Oh, I've forgotten now.) (Twelve hundred.) Twelve hundred. One thousand, two hundred pounds? (Yes.) Oh, that's cool. So, you need it to go do your job? (Oh yes, we have to have a car for our job, yes!) And how about two days ago? Where did you go? (Oh no, it was two days after we bought it, it broke down.) I know, but... I thought you said you bought it two days ago? (That was last week, last week we bought it.) OK, before that, how did you get to work? (Oh, we had another car, but that just decided it didn't want to go anymore. So the garage across the road took it and sold us this other one, so it was quite convenient.) Oh, is it good now? (Yes, I think it's a great car,) It’s cool. (with fingers crossed, yes.) What Chinese signs are you? Dog? (I'm a Bull.) A what? Ox? (Ox!) OK, how about your husband? (He's a Rat.) Ah! Good together! (That's not him, though. That's not him. He's upstairs.) (No, that's not me!) I know. No, I don't say it's him! No, I don't point at him. I said it's a good sign! (Yes, I saw a program that said the two...) I know what he looks like. (The two are compatible; I saw a program about it.) Supposed to be! (Supposed to be, yes. I think he's good.) So, who is working hardest in the house? The Ox, right? (Maybe a little bit, yes! I don't want to say too much.) The Ox is supposed to work very hard, no? I'm not sure... Just fun! (Yes, yes.) All right. (And also, I'd just like to say, when we have this big center, the chance is we are going to have to grow together and learn from each other, because when you work together as brothers and sisters, there's a lot you can learn and introspect in yourself and see your faults and correct them.) Maybe. (So, I think it speeds up the process a bit, maybe, of learning.) Maybe. (I hope.) Maybe. So, you are still working at that job? I mean, different houses, or buildings? Big buildings? How did you get the job? (Through ringing... in the newspaper. And we ran around and put leaflets on some houses' doors. We actually only work 20 hours a week each.) OK. (But we manage to have enough money to live on.) How much do you earn per week or month, if I may ask you? (It's about 250 a week.) A week? (Just under, actually. Some...) For one of you? (No, for two.) For two, 250 per week? (Actually, sometimes it's less.) Of course. (Around 200 to 250. It varies.) Of course. (But because we don't do very much, and as You say, we don't need very much.) No, you are doing it much, it's just not everybody calls you every day. (Yes, that's right.) You don't have, like, steady kind of clients, of course. And you have to pay for car and insurance and everything else. (Yes.) So, the 200 is neto (net) or bruto (gross)? (Sorry?) Neto (Net)? (Oh no, that's net. No, that's what we have.) You mean in your pocket? (Yes.) After cars and everything? (Oh, no, no, no! No, not after car! No, we have very little after everything else.) Oh, I understand. (But we don't need very much, so...) Food and car and insurance. (Yes. A little bit more work, we could save a bit more, but it's enough for now. For now, it's enough.) You could even save from that? (Yes, yes! A little, yes, a little.) I am impressed! (Because we don't go anywhere, really. We just work, and it gives us a lot of time to meditate.) I am impressed! (And we don't do anything else, so...) I am impressed by your positive outlook and point of view, and appearance. (Thank You.) That's what we should all feel. It doesn't matter where you work, and how much you earn. If you are happy, you should count your luck. Many people who want to work don't even have a job. You know, in other countries or war countries, you have no time to cover yourself every day even, just to stay alive! And in England, it's still quite a safe place. Of course, some political mess they make - we have a little terrorism, but don't let them win. Don't let the terrorists win. I mean, we still go out and be courageous, normal. All right. Anyone else who is doing some small job? Why does he sit upstairs? Don't have enough room here? (I don't know why he didn't come down.) I told you guys you can sit here, so some people have more room, no? How many more people upstairs? A lot? (It's about 15 people.) Fifteen? (No, more than 15.) Twenty, thirty? (At least 30, 40.) At least 30, 40, yes! When I am talking, they can come down. Oh, it also doesn't matter. Upstairs they can also see my face, right? It's cool, it's cool. Anything else you want to tell me? Something nice about your life, that you have progressed, that you've improved, that you feel good? Give me some feedback! Don't just complain all day long and want money. I want to know if I invest in the right company! It's just a fair business, right? At least I invest, I get something in return, no? Tell me! (I was initiated just a short... two years ago. And I was having a hard time at the time. But since then, my life has changed totally. It's unrecognizable.) Yeah? (Yes. And even...) In a good way? (A very good way, yes.) OK. (I still find it hard with my mind sometimes, but I know I'm on the right path, and I just want to thank You.) Cool! You're welcome! Yeah, anyone else? (And I'll just tell You something small.) Huh? (Just small things that happen. One day, I wanted to get weights for lifting.) OK. (And I thought I'd go to Argos for them, and I forgot. And my sister came in that evening with the same weights, saying she'd bought them but they were too heavy for her. They're just small things as well.) OK, good. Well, as long as you're happy with small things, they will keep coming. Big things, we will have them later. Whatever you need, if you tune in, and if it's really right for you, it will be arranged. These are small stuff. OK, good! I am happy that you are happy. The thing is, it's not because I need to hear the award or anything from you. I just want to know that you are happy. OK? Good. (And I feel strength this week, too, of the Gift.) Yeah? (Very much, yes.) OK, just cool down. Chill out, it will be OK. Get used to it. I'm telling you, it's very strong! Can't just give it to anyone. Yeah, who else? (I would like to add to that, because it's so quick when we tune in, and it comes so fast. So, this is one of the things that I'm really impressed. Because it's... like that!) Yeah, sure! It's not even like that, it's before that even! (Yes, that's true! But then, when we notice, it's...) I know. It's already like that. Yeah, OK, I understand. (Thank You.) You are welcome. I love hearing that.

Sorcery Contest, Part 6 of 12, Aug. 11, 1991

There are two gates up there. One leads to places within the three worlds, and one goes beyond the three worlds. I opened the one beyond the three worlds for you when I gave you initiation. Understand? Just like your house has a front door and a back door. You use the front door to go outside, whereas the back door will lead you to the trash bin or the restroom. Master: There are people who practice that kind of martial art. Do you know it? It’s like this. From here. And neither the knife nor the sword can pierce into it, including here. (The throat.) And their hands become… (Very hard.) They can bend an iron bar like it’s a noodle. What did you practice? Internal or external qigong? Q(m1): I have iron arms now. Master: What? (Iron arms.) Q(f3): He has iron arms too. (Iron arms.) Master: You have iron arms? You can also bend the iron bar, right? Q(m1): No. After reconstruction, the bones become harder. And the skin can withstand pain. Master: Withstand the wind? (Pain.) Pain? Oh! Q(m1): If any of you want to try, you’re welcome to come up here. Q(f3): He’s asking people to come and try. Master: Come and try? No need. You can beat yourself with the iron bar. Then they’ll know you’re not afraid of pain! Q(m1): But if I use the iron bar, they will not know how hard my arms are. They have to try for themselves. Master: I have to find a martial art expert to come up here. Tong! The copper man! Come up! I don’t know if he has iron arms. I know he cannot be hurt by knives and swords. But iron arms… I don’t know. Someone else is coming? Come, come! It’s more fun this way! Otherwise, people will think that we are boring practitioners and only useless people come here. They don’t know that there are great kung fu masters among us. OK, you two. Master: Aren’t you a dentist? No? Q(m2): No. I’ve practiced martial arts for almost 30 years. Master: Practiced what? (Kungfu.) Wow! If I’d known this earlier, I would not have dared to give you initiation. Welcome. Now try him. Fix him for me. He has boasted enough about his power. You see that? Thirty years! Good! Wow! Great! You see? Q(m1): I came up to entertain you all, not to boast or anything. Master: Sit. Just sit down. Sit here. It’s OK. Now we will try something different. You all can talk. You don’t have to always listen to me. Now let’s hear you all talk. OK! Go on. You can fix him after he’s finished. Don’t be polite with him. OK, tell me. Q(m1): I once competed with someone who had iron palms. Master: Iron palms? (Yes.) OK, understand. (He could…) Kill someone with his hand, right? (Yes, he could.) Wow! Scary! Q(m1): He could even stir hot sands with his bare hands. His skin would peel off and be replaced with a new skin. The skin would have yellow and white patches. Master: Understand. Q(m1): It looked horrible. Because I got my iron arms from practicing qigong, they look normal on the outside. Master: Understand. (They are different inside.) I understand. You use the inner qi. (Yes.) to push it here. I know now. Q(m1): Yes, yes. Just like forging iron. A knife has to be forged to make it strong so it won’t become jagged after use. Master: Yes. Q(m1): I have hit his palms before. Master: You did? (Yes.) Oh! Not bad! Q(m1): But I found that his bones are not really hard. Master: Not so good. (No. Only one spot on his hands is hard. He only worked on one part, not his whole arm.) Master: Oh! Maybe he didn’t practice that well. But you have to watch out! If you met a top kung fu master, you would be finished. It’s true that some people really have iron hands. They can bend knives and swords like toys. You would be finished if you were touched by his sword. He can twist it like a noodle or a French baguette. Master: What else? You beat him? (No.) How good was that person? Q(m1): He was once an advisor to the taekwondo coaches in the Marine Corps in Zuoying. Q(f3): He was an advisor to a coach in the Navy. Master: Wow! That means he’s good, doesn’t it? Q(m1): He was an advisor to their taekwondo coaches. Master: Oh, that means… (In the army.) That means he’s good. Right? Or did they just pick randomly? Or were the real masters in hiding? Is that possible? Was there anyone better than him? What do you think? You are from the martial arts community. Do you know anything? Q(m2): I believe that kung fu is about what’s within. For example, in qigong, you have to relax when practicing, so that your bones would become strong. That’s what he meant by bone remodeling. I have practiced almost all types of martial arts, including qigong. I can make hundreds of people’s fingers longer or shorter at the same time. Q(f3): He can make fingers of hundreds of people become longer or shorter. Q(m1): You can try it later. Master: What is that? What do you mean by longer and shorter? I cannot understand your martial jargon. Q(m2): I can send qi to someone’s fingers and make them longer. Master: Longer? (Their fingers will become longer. Two fingers will be of different lengths.) Yes? Q(f3): And the fingers of each arm can also become different. (Yes.) Master: One will be shorter and one longer? Q(m2): Many people in Taiwan (Formosa) can do this. At least hundreds of them. Master: Hundreds of people can do this? (Yes, I am not the only one.) Hundreds of them in Taiwan (Formosa). Q(m2): Many can do it. It’s very common.Master: Wow! So you can make a short person taller? Q(m2): Yes, but they will shrink back after a while. Master: Then what is the use of it? (It’s of no use.) It’s a waste of your time and that person’s expectation. (That’s why I quit.) You stopped learning? (I now practice the Quan Yin Method.) Yeah, that is a waste of time. What’s the use of making people taller if they just shrink back afterwards? Otherwise I could… (But it could be used to relieve pain.) Otherwise, you could use it to help our young monks grow faster. Yes? You could use your kung fu to pull them up a little. They eat a lot of blessed food but it still doesn’t help. I order a lot of food for them every month. All kinds of food. They still don’t grow much. Like Tong. There’s nothing I can do! Do you think you can pull him up a little? OK, OK. Say yes only if you can. Otherwise, don’t bother. OK. You can tell us what you are good at. Then it will be his turn. We can have a discussion. If there’s anything you would like to add or correct, then you can bring it up in the discussion. OK, sit over here. Don’t face the audience, they have a lot of karma. Look over here. Tell me. What else? Q(m1): When I came for initiation, in the beginning I was not so… I just wanted to give it a try. But the more I practiced, the more discoveries I made inside. This is just an analogy. Many brothers and sisters fell in love with You first and married You later. But I did not fall in love first. My marriage came before the love. I was initiated first. Master: You just wanted to try. Q(m1): After initiation, I realized how good the Quan Yin Method is. I fell in love with the Quan Yin Method. Master: I see. And? You don’t have to talk about the Quan Yin Method. We all know about it. Just talk about your own experience. Q(m1): I shared many stories during the last 7-day retreat. Master: You did? Q(m1): Like I was suddenly able to do shadow boxing by myself. That was nothing. Master: So he learned it himself. The kung fu stances originally came from spiritual practice. After practicing spiritually for some time, some people could suddenly perform mudras or kung fu stances. That happens when qi is circulating smoothly in your body. Q(m1): I think it’s a flashback memory of previous lives. Master: Yeah, this happens. Then it developed into kung fu. For example, after practicing spiritually for some time, some people can automatically react to whatever the opponent does, without having learned any kung fu. Have you heard of such stories? (Yes.) Have you? It’s a natural ability. Q(m2): They call it “magic boxing.” Magic boxing. Master: Do you know anyone in Taiwan (Formosa) who can do it? (Yes.) (Yes.) Who? (Yes, my ancestors had this ability.) Your ancestors? (Many generations of my family practiced martial arts.) That’s why you are so good! You have the lineage. It’s better than learning from outside. Q(m1): I don’t think so. Because we would practice life after life, and be born here again. Q(f3): He thinks it’s not a good thing for him. Because he has practiced it in previous lives, so he was born again in the family of martial arts. Q(m1): Never to go beyond the three worlds. Master: No. (Stuck in transmigration here.) No. It’s good you are here now. You are so lucky already. Why are you complaining? Because you had some kung fu power, you could recognize Master. If you had not learned qigong, you probably would not have recognized me. If you had not shot me with your qi, you would not know my power. Just like the Taoist sister who shot me with invisible swords. She had to do that before she could surrender herself. Otherwise, she would not know who I am! Q(m1): After practicing the Quan Yin Method for 6 months, I thought that I had not practiced qigong for a long time. So I picked it up again. After practicing just one time, I could move automatically again. My body started to walk around making all kinds of hand gestures. Suddenly My body ran to my cushion and sat down to meditate (on inner Heavenly Light and Sound). Master: How strange! (So I think…) He was also a qigong master. He could make just one move and send people flying in the air. He had great skills, yet he used it to shoot his qi at me. But he came to learn with me after he failed. They are all like that! I do not use any martial arts. For example, when that sister came to shoot her magic swords at me, I didn’t engage her at all. I just sat there eating my cake. And you said the knife I used to cut the cake was emitting light. I didn’t do anything! I was just cutting the cake, It’s not me who made the knife shine brightly. I didn’t do anything intentionally. But you needed to have intent when practicing your magic skills, (Yes. It’s not good using the mind power.) Mind power? (It’s not good to use the mind.) It’s still… (Low level.) It’s still not so good, is it? It’s better to do it naturally. Right? (Yes.) OK.Master: Now you can share something with us. Then you two can compete with each other. Now tell us your story. When did you start practicing? What did you practice? Q(m2): I had practiced martial arts since childhood. It’s been a family tradition for many generations. I also practiced karate for many years. Karate. (Practiced karate.) Master: Karate. Wow! Awesome! Q(m2): With the Japanese. You can see that my hands are round. Master: Yeah. (They are both round.) Yes. (The whole hand is…) I know. (Round.) Really professional! Q(m2): Because I practiced karate for many years. After that I learned tai chi too. I learned tai chi from the chief master. He was the highest master of the orthodox tai chi style in Taiwan (Formosa). Q(m1): Was it Huang Xing Xian? Q(m2): No, Huang also learned the moves from my master. Huang was a junior fellow of my master. He had hundreds of thousands of students in Malaysia. Master: Oh, I see! (But my master was the chief master.) Wow! Awesome! (I was his first major disciple.) Really? That’s great! Major disciple? (Yes.) Wow! I am honored to meet you. So? Q(m2): After practicing tai chi for many years, I felt like I had reached a plateau that I could not break through. Master: How come there are also different states of martial arts? Q(m2): Because in the field of tai chi, this is how it is when you reach the highest state. You’ll have the power of hearing and apprehension, etc. It’ll be like that when you reach the highest state. Because it seems… I felt empty inside when I reached a high level. It was as if there was something missing. Master: Yes? Q(m2): I didn’t know what it was. Nothing looked right to me. I did not seem to know anyone in this world. I seemed to have no feelings toward people, including my wife. I often felt like I did not know her at all. It was strange. Master: It’s like your attention is focused, you know? Concentration. That’s not bad. Q(m2): It seemed like nothing in this world concerned me. And then my brother-in-law invited me to come and get initiation from Master to practice the Quan Yin Method. During the lecture… Master: Can everybody hear it? Can people in the back hear it? (They should be able to hear. They should…) Yes? (Yes!) Q(m2): I… I went to Master’s lecture at the National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. I only went on the first day. The second day I did not go. But I saw Master’s transformation from my wisdom eye for 4 to 5 hours. The image was vivid, as were Master’s clothes. It lasted a long time. When my brother-in-law came back from the lecture, I described to him what Master was wearing at the lecture. He said, “Yes. How did you know?” This just happened naturally. I never practiced this kind of magic before. Master: It’s not magic? Q(m2): No, no, I never practiced anyway. I never learned anything like that. So I came quickly to get initiation. Master: Because you found it strange. Q(m2): Yes. Very strange. The vision was… When we practice qigong, we have the impression and energy field of the opponent ingrained onto our wisdom eye, like framing it in a mirror, then we send it out using the mind power. That’s how it’s done. That’s how qi is sent out. We also use the wisdom eye to send it out. Because I was just a beginner, so I didn’t dare to ask Master that, if I sent qi from the solar plexus all the way to the wisdom eye, would it interfere with my practice of the Quan Yin Method? I’m not sure about that. Master: What did you say? Please explain. Q(m2): I used to send my qi from the solar plexus to the wisdom eye and send it out from there. After practicing the Quan Yin Method, I often have to cut it off here. Because it would flow upwards, with the mind power and the vibration. The subtle vibrations would come up here. So I often have to control it, to push it down. Master: Why do you have to push it down? Q(m2): I don’t know. Because I thought that I should ask only after having practiced for three years. Today, it just happens… I feel embarrassed because this is in public… Master: I don’t understand his question. What did he ask? Q(f3): Do you mean after you practice the Quan Yin Method? Q(m2): No. Because I had practiced qigong before. That’s why. Master: It goes up automatically? Q(m2): Yes. Because I learned to emit qi from all parts of the body. Through the hands or the side of the body. Just anywhere. Not only the hands. Even the wisdom eye. We also learned to send out qi from the wisdom eye. But I don’t think this is the right way. I should focus on the Quan Yin Method. Q(f3): He said that he used to emit qi from the wisdom eye. Master: Understand. Q(f3): He thinks that it’s wrong to do that. Master: Why is it wrong? Q(m2): I don’t know if I should do that. Master: You were using the wisdom eye for a different purpose. I told you before that there are two gates there. You were using the one within the three worlds. (Oh!) It’s at the same place, one on the left and one on the right. Q(m2): Originally, I wanted to concentrate on my practice and ask Master this question three years later. Master: Ah, no need. Q(m1): I have my own thoughts about this. Chinese people say that humans live on three things. Essence, qi, and spirit. There is a big difference between qi and spirit. Qigong is at the qi level. If you want to become a celestial or a Buddha, you have to rise to the level of the spirit. Cultivate your spirit. The spirit is the Light and Sound. So the qi level is much lower than… Master: The spirit level. Q(m1): The spirit level. We also practice through the wisdom eye. Master: Understand. Q(m1): But the level is different. Master: Yes. Q(m2): For qigong, we have to use our mind power, strong mind power. Master: Use the mind? OK. Of course, the wisdom eye is the center of wisdom. Inside. We can use it in any way. But qigong uses it for only one purpose. Even though it opens the right door, it is used only for one purpose, such as emitting qi. It does not take you beyond the three worlds. Qigong is used solely for martial arts, but not to its full capacity. So being the best kung fu master is all you could achieve. But the best kung fu master is still nothing! Q(m2): No, it’s truly nothing. Now I really feel that it’s no use. Master: Understand. (I don’t want anything now.) Understand. But we don’t just stop at the wisdom eye. We start from there and go to other realms. The wisdom eye is just a door. There’s nothing great about it. We should not just stop there. For example, we open the front door to go and see friends, go shopping or go to work. What’s the use of just standing by the door? You can only see so much from there. Understand? I use that door to take you out, not to make you stand there. But with qigong, you just stand at the door. That’s the difference. OK, anymore?
